  • DPF fail.

  • So weird not seeing soot push out of the back of a tuned diesel... Still waiting for the black haze to push out the tailpipe...

  • The DSG can handle that power easily and more, it just needs to be repogrammed. I believe the factory torque limit is around 350 lb ft.... more than enough for just a tune. Malone can confirm this but that is what I gathered in my readings.

  • Unlike the Merc and BMW, no DEF required.

  • Is this tune anything like the euro-spec tune that all the tdi cup club racers and euro jettas use or I'd it more aggressive? Also, is this all the stock injection pump/injectors can support?

  • great job tuning the car and thanks for the dyno numbers i always wondered what was the stock output and the output after the tune...i was also wondering how i could do the DIESEL INSIDE remap? and if i needed to change any parts such as the injectors?, or anything else/??

  • @electricfeel2012 The car in the video only has an ECU remap. No other modifications.

  • @MaloneTuningLtd oh ok....and how much is it for the remap? and where/how can i get it done?

  • @electricfeel2012 There are two options: Visit a dealer or take your ECU out and ship it. For pricing and dyno chart, go to the website (link is in the Video description) and select ECU Tuning > Audi/VW > TDI > 2.0 CR TDI. Send a message via the Contact Us page if you would like to get started.

  • @MaloneTuningLtd I just took a look at all of that and it seems great Ill just contact the site directly from now on thanks for all the info man appreciate it....oh and I had another quick question if u dont mind...do u know what the 0-60 times are after the stage 2 tune with a manual? i believe stock should be sumwhere around 8.2 I just wanted what kind of improvement i could be expecting

  • @electricfeel2012 If a customer measures 0-60MPH or preferably 1/4 mile times I'll post them up. The dyno is good enough for now and you will definitely feel the power. It's still virtually smoke-free.

  • whp or crank hp

  • @fastcity07 The power figures shown are at the wheels.

  • whp or crank hp

  • @GarrettKeetley That guy actually tows a trailer :)

  • As the owner of a 2010 TDI Sportwagen with the DSG (missus can't drive a manual) I'd like to know how your DSG tune is coming along and how it compares to this one? Any numbers yet around hp/lb-ft, or 0-60mph?

  • Also, even though peak torque can't be as high with the DSG, are you still able to widen the peak torque band across a wider RPM range than stock? I am new to this engine and ECU tunes, so apologies if this is a dumb question.

  • look at the new V6 3L TDI. 225 hp 406 lb-ft torque stock. And you know thats very detuned.

  • These engines can produce 280-290 HP after a good tune.

  • diresearch, thanks for the info!

  • yea can't wait to see the 0-100 km video thanks for answering the question!

if this car can be under 8 sec i want one im curious if the new GOLF TDI can be tuned the same manner since its a 100 lbs lighter than the jetta

  • yeah the dsg transmission is having alot of problems. i heard something about a possible recall.

  • what's the difference in daily driving for line smoothing and without line smoothing?

"168hp and 315ft-lb torque (without line smoothing) 163hp and 295ft-lb (with line smoothing)."

wouldn't people want the more hp? actually that looks like a lot more torque as well.

Holy cow can't wait to get my 09 tdi!

  • Line smoothing refers to the HP and Torque curves on the dyno plot. A raw dyno output can show slightly shaky lines (mainly due to OBD2 signal noise). After making the lines flatter, the result shows 163hp instead of 168hp. The car still drives as smooth as silk, just like before it was tuned, except now it has more progressive power.

  • omg 30hp and 70ft/lbs is quite a deal for the advertised 550 dollar price of the tune. i am extremely impressed.

  • I should note that these power and torque figures are realistic for the manual transmission only. The DSG cannot handle that much torque. What happens is that the DSG will bang through every gear if you're flooring the pedal or close to it, and will happen at any RPM. It feels like a 1st gear high-RPM clutch drop with a manual transmission. The overall torque increase therefore needs to be milder to keep the DSG happy. A 2009 TDI DSG dyno is still coming and it'll be interesting to compare.

  • @diresearch I check Futrell Autowerks' Channel and they said that the DSG on the GTI can handle the APR Stage3 Turbo Kit, that thing has around 350 horsepower. Is the DSG here different?

  • well its been 3 months kinda waiting to see more vids of this car. anything new?

  • He lives 400km (250mi) away although he comes to town 30 minutes from here every weekend to visit his kids. If I meet him again and I have my video camera with me, I'll take an in-car video of 0-100km/h.

  • if you wash that car it will go faster! lol

  • impressive

  • What ECU "chip" did you use and were did you get it?

  • The tune is from Diesel Inside, also known as "Aligator".

  • How does the mod affect fuel mileage?

  • No change in fuel economy. The car is driven hard and taken on a 800km round trip on weekends (for family visits), sometimes with a trailer.

  • thanks for the video
