@TenMallak This is seriously incorrect, I played wow since release up to liche king (before hopefully switching definitly to eve :D :D :D) and the game requires a lot of direction for players. Most PVE is actually fairly demanding as far as strategy is involved. It's not like level 4 in eve where I can afk my dominix once initial aggro is ok ;)

WoW is (was) actually a good game. It has it's cons of course (community... getting too easy now also), but there are a few things ccp could copy !

Dont get me wrong. Eve is my all time favourite MMO & have spent many nailbiting nights in fleet chat trying to find a good fight.Its a vast game and in so many ways very competent. Still, I laugh when I see rigged videos making combat look more epic than it actually is. Some videos almost make it look twitch based with barrel rolls and sound effects (that arent even in the game). Look up "EVE PVP" in youtube to get more accurate player videos. U may be let down, but 1 heck of a game anyway.

LOL .. If only fleet combat was that good in EVE. They make it look so epic, like a cinematic star wars battle or something - Fighters zooming inbetween enemy formations. Fleet formations, all the ships lined up. Massive dogfights and organized volleys of fire.The real thing is not so elegant. Endless stalemates with big teams of yahoos swamping either side of a gate, ending in a laughable lag fest where you can barely move, and eventually you get "primaried" and 'sploded before the lag settles

Point and web=warp disruptor and stasis webifier to stop them moving.

Burn=use MicroWarp Drive

Cyno=cynosaural field, allows capital ships to use jump drives as they can't use gates. You can't move for 10mins when you use one.

Bridging=Making battleships and smaller jump in with cap ships.

Bubble=interdictor's warp disruption sphere

Bump=ram large ship so it cannot align for warp

dps=damage per second = shoot with guns/drones

Primary/secondary/tertiary=kil­l ships in this order.

What I don't understand however, is why warp distruptors/scramblers are called "points", I mean, web, it's self-explanatory, but point? I just don't see the correlation.

The different modules do different amounts of scrambling. A disruptor does one point, a scrambler does 2 points but has shorter range and knocks out MWDs. Getting a point means "get at least one point of scrambling on it", plus that saying point is faster and clearer than saying scrambler or disruptor in a fight. Sometimes clear orders can be where the fight is won or lost so this is important.

People don't use them much now because they got nerfed. You can use them in lowsec to transport stuff around in a fast aligning frigate but in nullsec they are useless because they do nothing against a bubble or an infinite point from a dictor oe hictor. If you need to move stuff around nullsec it is better to nano and MWD to align before someone can target you. If you get bubbled you can at least try to burn out but for the most part you just accept you are going to get podded.
