  • he used windows 7 :D

  • Wow!

  • Does design have these futures too?

  • i could never afford this, i stick with good ol blender

  • @jjtheslayer69 sign up as a student for this

  • At last, Autodesk began using GPU-based rendering, more intensely. It comes very late, since the codebase was released (n'OpenXX).

    This interview::

Talk, talk, talk, talk, near-monotonic talk, 1001 words per minute -- IT NOT TEACH. It's boring, ugly (garrulous, blab, tagarela, chiacchierone).

  • He doesn't say Area he says Harea lol

  • you Autodesk people have really disappointed me by removing havoc world reactor from 3ds max 12 no cloth, no rope and nothing else and mass fx is shit ..please add reactor again....otherwise 3ds max lose its real value and strength..it was preferred over Maya due to reactor....hope you will think again !!!

  • @umar6419 use plugins .... have a nice day

  • @Cobac i know and using plugins but the built in plugins are like perfect..........

  • @justtakeiteasy Yeah I'm currently installing it... should have made a "end of the world" edition :))

  • my max 2012 is really slow when nitrous is turned on

  • thanks autodesk!! but why not put in HD ? :(

  • Guess its time to upgrade. What about the startup time? One thing I really HATE about 3ds max is the time it takes to start up and let you work on a bloody thing...

  • @fuadjalil I have the trial, and it's very quick to start up. For me, it takes only 20 or 30 seconds, and I'm running on a somewhat dodgy laptop.

  • @anim8ordude Well that's good to hear, 30 seconds is still kinda long but that must be the drive slowing it down, SSD will help. Thanks for letting us know....

  • @fuadjalil It's only 5400RPM, so not too bad. Max 2011 takes a minute or two for me.

  • @anim8ordude Well that's not too bad, I guess it's time to upgrade to 2012....

  • I'm seriously tempted to bite the bullet and get an upgrade to this version (I would if it wasn't so damned expensive, it's rediculous)

But, there have been plenty of things added/changed since version 8, and I believe many of those additions could help me. (Like viewport canvas, I hate having to switch into photoshop then back to max) and i think it may be worth upgrading now.

  • I pressed unlike. Because they didn't talk about character animation updates or timeline updates. No pro uses max for texturing. Cos we got zbrush and mudbox and mari to do a looooooooot better job faster for us. I love 3ds max. but I JUST HATE AUTO FUCKING DESK!!!!!

  • @sampad01 Well, i for one actually like the look of some of these features. I'm still using Max 8, from about 5 years ago or so, and yes, while there maybe better apps for texturing (like zbrush/mudbox/photoshop), and motionbuilder for animations, having those apps running side by side can be taxing on performance. Something like Viewport Canvas should have been included in max YEARS ago.

  • @TheGuardianofAzarath hey u know... actually.. after I watched that other guys video showing how max 2012 is handling millions of polygon even while editing with nitrous view on.... I really think I am falling for it. Cos all I want is performance... which max lacks a lot... in the older versions.... and btw.... last time I checked viewport canvas was real slow on my 8 gb RAM pc with core i 7 and nvidia gts 250.... while zb and mudbox runs like butter.....

  • looks great, any ideas when is the release date?

  • I love 3dsMax!
