  • MY favorite show till this day. There has never been anything written with the first class morals, and power as this program for the TV public. What a shame we are not able to "Perfect" another program like this today! Chuck...you are so missed.

  • I was 12 years old when The Rifleman first aired. I will soon be 64. I loved this program then and I love it today. The chemistry between father and son such as Lucas and Mark was so real. I have never seen real parents and children exhibit love for one another as they did. I laughed and cried with some of these episodes. The 50's and 60's were about family. Thank you RiflemanRay1 for bringing this wonderful show back to life.

  • @AsrRwr Thank you for your nice comment....I wrote the song for Jeff Connors, the real son of Chuck Connors....He seemed to like the way I did it....My son Bryan is playing background guitar....I'm like you....I love The Rifleman....Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford had that chemistry....Thanks Again....RiflemanRay

  • @RiflemanRay1 You are so welcome. I love this song. When we do what we love & love what we do, taking pride in our work, it shows. You, Jeff & Bryan gave it your all with the lyrics, song, music and putting together this fantastic video to bring pleasure to many of us who grew up with this clean, wholesome show. I am proud to be part of that era. There will never be another Conners/Lucas or Crawford/Mark. This duo stood head & shoulders above the rest. RIP Mr Conners. U R missed.

  • CHUCK CONNERS GET A 10 IN THOSE LEVI.I LOVE THE CHEMESTRY BETWEEN A FATHER AN SON.DO JOHNNY CRAWFORD DO ANY ACTING TO DAY.

  • A nice tribute. A great show. I haven't seen it's equal since I was a kid. "Lucas Boy" taught his son morals & even about God, & was as much a decent human being as he was a bad-ass with that Winchester of his. Today's stuff is just that....stuff. In my opinion, The Rifleman had no equal.

  • @Kazyman Think you for your nice and true comment....In my opinion The Rifleman was ans still is the best Western.Every young person should watch this great show....Thanks again....RiflemanRay

  • I first saw Rifleman in about '75, well my dad happened to have a 30-30 lever action Winchester me and my friends used to dry fire it to see if we could be as fast as Lucas. The old man was out deer hunting when a big buck made an appearance so he takes aim pulls the trigger and click, nothing happened, we'd broken the firing pin. Funny thing the old man wasn't mad and he never hunted again.

  • @kevindlinc Great story....Thanks....RiflemanRay

  • chuck norris changed his last name?

  • What a big bad dude.

  • GREAT SHOW LOVED IT. THANKS

  • I loved, and still love this show. I grew up watching all the TV Westerns of the 50's and 60's. They taught us that justice would prevail. Unfortunately, the facts of life are that it won't. For the most part the moral compass presented by these small screen parables was a fantasy. I live each day frustrated that the reality is, the big rancher with all the money and the corrupt politician always wins. The hard working little guy is the loser. Ironic, isn't it?

  • I REMEMBER SITTING WITH MY FATHER WATCHING OUR BLACK AND WHITE TV WATCHING RIFLEMAN AND OTHER WESTERNS OF THAT TIME.I AM 59 AND STILL LOVE WATCHING THESE OLD SHOWS.WHAT MEMORIES I HAVE.

  • OMG i used to have a mad crush on Mark. I loved this show. I loved the Riffle man. that mf could shoot is big gun! wow

  • We were so happy to find this loving tribute to The Rifleman. Great illustrations to the song. So grateful AMC is rerunning the show again. The love between father and son, and the acting between Connors and Crawford is 100 per cent believeable and touching as hell. Great plots, action and music. Perhaps the best of all TV westerns of its time. Thanks for the posting.

  • @CBSEye I could not agree more with what you said!.I only recently found the show on (I only have an antena) and was thrilled to see a moral and value minded program to watch, thats what I grew up with watching..I am also thrilled to see where Johnnys life has gone. I'm sure he learned a lot from being Mark McCain for 5 yrs. What the hell has happened to TV programing today where the kids totally disrespect the parents and it called 'a good program' ? Thats some sad sorry programing, ain't it?

  • I remember watching The RIfleman in reruns in the early '70s when I was very, very young - loved it! The Rifleman was the ultimate 'good guy', and not just a 'good guy', but a God-fearin' good-guy with uncompromising morals. They don't make 'em like that anymore - God, Guts and Guns, it was awesome! Obama and his modern flunkies would have a heart-attack just watching the opening sequence of The Rifleman today, but that's just because they've forgotten what REAL Truth and Justice are all about.

  • such a great show.

  • Is there still a Northfork New Mexico? What is it like today?

  • i remember seeing this in the early 70's on german tv.

  • I use to own a gun business in Texas and came in contact with a friend of Chuck Connors, Moe Hunt. I spoke with him over the phone once and offered to help sell the replica 1892 rifleman rifles he had for sale. Mr. Hunt sent me pictures of Chuck Connors. Sadly Mr. Hunt passed away several years ago without me getting a chance to help him sell the rifles. I am no longer in business but never could have spoke with a finer person as Moe Hunt!

  • The greatest show ever!!! Back then they weren't afraid of talking about the Bible or God...it's funny that few if any were offended either!

  • @gsong123 I agree....This Country is so afraid of offending people....I like The Rifleman because Lucs stood up for doing the right thing....He taught Mark how to be a good person....I wish that every young person could watch the old westerns because it was all about good over evil....RiflemanRay

  • @RiflemanRay1 I'm so glad I grew up in the fifties, where there was still a remnant of decency, even on the airwaves. In those days a message of morality and decency was portrayed in most TV shows. Today the message is to draw our young from decency and truth. It's sad but true that these Hollywood writers and producers can make or break a society...... we've "seen" it and we're "seeing" now! So sad!

  • @gsong123 I agree....The problem is....We vote for one thing or a lot of different things that we like about these politicians....They seem to talk....But they very seldom ever stand up for the people....They become different people when they get to Washington....We need as a Nation to hold these people accountable for their actions....Freedom is not cheap....There is a price to be paid for Freedom....I also agree that Hollywood and violent video games are in a way....destroying our young....

  • @gsong123 Well said!

  • @gsong123 Between Hollywood, bankers, lobbying corporations & lawyers, this country quckly sank.

  • @RiflemanRay1 It is a lot more than that. LUCAS MCCAIN was a man of TRUTH and HONOR. His ethics code would not allow himself ot be Bribed, coersed or talked into ANYTHING that went against his own code of honor. He was honest and truthful 100% of the time. A great role model.

  • @RiflemanRay1 I'm 19 years old and I LOVE this show. Everything about it rings true to me. I'm grateful for MeTV for having this show on at a time where I'm at home and can watch it every evening on Mon-Fri. I'm just sad that there aren't any shows like this today--heartwarming and bad-ass all rolled into one. :) Thanks for posting this video.

  • Thank you, RiflemanRay.. I'm Dina; Michael also went to heaven.. I really did meet my father, last year in a holy vision. You 're so right and so right on. Much friendship from my heart. .. About Chuck.. I have the most beautiful signed print in color from ebay; I swear to you.. his eyes they smile and I know he is alive! My kids see it too... the magic of the truth. He is a one man giant healer hero doll! Your sis, Dina

  • Ten million blessings, RiflemanRay! Lucas was the only father this girl ever had, and Ray is my own father's name I lost at five. Don't you ever change!!! God bless the Greats!!!

  • @MichaelDinaswirled I'm sorry that you lost your father at the age of 5....I'll bet that he was a nice person....Always remember your dad as you will meet him one day....Thak you for being a Rifleman fan....RiflemanRay

  • Happy 90th Birthday, to our friend Chuck Connors in Heaven. Thanks for EverYthinG, from your friend the mom whos kids and I love ya!!!!!! Forever man. And of course, say hello to Paul.

  • @MichaelDinaswirled Thank you for remembering The Rifleman....Chuck Connors will always be known as Lucas McCain....What a Legacy ....The Rifleman was such a great western that taught us morals and also taught that you should always stand up for what is right and that is exactly what Lucas did....Happy 90th Chuck and may your memory live forever....RiflemanRay

  • The Marlboroman

  • @JxT1957 Thanks....RiflemanRay

  • @JxT1957 THANKS....RiflemanRay

  • Rifleman is the man in New Mexico.

  • @Beckysguy01 Awesome....RiflemanRay

  • i love The Rifleman...since I was a little girl i've loved him....i watch the reruns everyday on WHC.....i dont care how many times i've seen each show i will watch them over and over....he was so handsome and i loved the relationship he had with Mark

  • @ajfanful Thanks....I grew up watching The Rifleman....They don't have anything that even compares to The Rifleman on TV these days....RiflemanRay

  • @ajfanful You are right....This was the show that the family could watch together and it taught you family values....Lucas always did the right thing....Micah wore the badge ....but Lucas....He was the man....RiflemanRay

  • What a legacy! Lucas McCain.

  • Kevin Joseph Aloysious Connors is Beautiful!!!!!!

  • My mom was an x-ray tech in Santa Barbra in the '60's. She gave him an X -Ray and thought he was an asshole. Who cares, MOM, I loved the Rifleman...great show, great role for old Chuck.

  • @TheBrevo I guess every one can be one at some time in their life....RiflemanRay

  • I miss him. I watched s a kid and thought Micah was tough when he wanted to be. Miss those days. Nice autographs, lucky man...:)

  • Everybody heaps praises on Lucas McCain, but nobody ever mentions his mentor/friend Micah Torrence. When he showed up with that Double Barreled coach shotgun, everybody took notice.

Here's to you Micah, (Paul Fix) Lucas made the show, but you held it together.

  • @crispycritterz You gotta love Micah....He and Lucas were a great team....Lucas and Micah would always watch each others back....RiflemanRay

  • Some folks out in Doorchester S.C near my ousin's house back in the 1970's had a rifle like that with the big circular trigger guard---I still think it looks real cool. And love the show---watch it all the time!

  • @micmoable ....Let me know if you ever want to get one of these 1892 Winchesters....The guy that made mine is a good friend of mine....RiflemanRay

  • @RiflemanRay1 sounds good sir--but finances aren't so well at this time---That would be really nice to have though! I lve watching that show and do so often--it wouldn't be the same without ol' chuck!

  • McCain still towers over the Old West. Other hands with a rifle that came up short of him were the hero in "Death Rides A Horse;" J.P. Harrah (Mitchum) in El Dorado AND Colonel Douglas Mortimer "the best shot in the Carolinas" (Van Cleef) in "For A Few Dollars More." In 6 Million Dollar Man, Connors asked former Heath Barkley "Well what kind of man are you?" Answer--the kind that can't match McCain with a rifle. The series lends itself to a film, but WHO could fill Connor's shoes? NOBODY!!

  • @skirts365

Jeff Connors told me that his dad would practice six to eight hours a day with that 1892 Winchester....Even on Sunday....There is really no one who could fill Lucas McCains shoes as "The Rifleman"....RiflemanRay

  • @RiflemanRay1 that's cool info you posted---he'd have to practice to be so good handling swinging that rifle around so fast----but if he was actuall shooting too then he sure enough did well!

  • @micmoable....Lucas McCain was the man....RiflemanRay

  • @RiflemanRay1 YO BETHE WAS--and apparently chuck was a really nice fellow in real life outside the set also

  • Chuck did a brief stint with the Brooklyn Dodgers. I wont hold that against him

  • @SgtBooker44 ....He was a instructor at West Point....He also played on the first Boston Celtics Basketball team in 1946....RiflemanRay

  • My name's not Lucas McCain, but my rifle is my life.

  • @mChongbro ....I hope that you have more going on in your life than a rifle....RiflemanRay

  • In an episode with Dennis Hopper as an artist there was a drawing of Chuck and Johnny, whatever happended to it? I'd love to have a copy...I'm obsessive/compulsive when it comes to The Rifleman...hope RiflemanRay! responds to my post...

  • @BushMass When Jeff Connors, the real son of Chuck Connors stayed at my house and we had the 50th anniversary party at wsvs am 800 in Crewe,Va, I think that Jeff gave one of those pictures to Steve Winn of wsvs....RiflemanRay

  • Thank you for your nice comment....RiflemanRay

  • I remember my parents taking me to see Chuck Connors perform at a car lot in my hometown. I was 6 years old at the time it was 1963. I remember him performing on the back of a flatbed trailer. I also brought my huffy riflemans rifle along. There's somethings you just never forget. I also currently own a rifle just like his. 1892 Winchester with the bowloop lever.

  • Excellent song & Singer

  • This was the first song that I ever wrote....RiflemanRay
