@minididi42 actually jamaican patois is different from this, our patois is and english creole while theres are french, well we have alot of french creole in jamaica we prefer to call it "kreyol".
so sad how this is dying out, Jamaica still have patois, doesn't matter what part of west indies you're from patois tells the story how different slaves could not communicate b/c they came from different tribe, patois was the common medium, how despite the struggle we found a way :)
MOST OF MY FAMILY ARE FROM GRENADA && CARRAICOU THEY SETTLED IN TRINIDAD THEY SPOKE PATOIS , THEY NEVER THOUGHT THEIR KIDS CAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT ANY ONE KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT, NOW I LIVE IN THE U.S HOPE MY LUCIAN FRIENDS BELIEVE ME NOW ABT TRINIDADIANS TALKING PATWA LOL
@madininos An Trinidad, nou ka kweyol lang-la Patois. Pou nou Creole se yon moun beke kon French Creole. Nou ka sevi mo Patois pou fe moun Trinidad indentifye epi i
I want to thank you for putting up these videos of Trinidadian patois!! I just found out from my uncle that my grandma spoke patois, but she didn't teach her children cause like Mary, she didn't want them to know her "bad talk" lol.But I understood one word that my uncle taught me when I saw this ,
"tout bagay"=everything lol. I plan to learn this language one day and pass it on to my children♥ I want this language to live!
wow my grand mother did not even know this was on youtube lol
