why are they comparing her to sheridan thats really rude sheridan i have to admit was the best elle but susan is amazing too and she really puts her heart into the performance!
@subwayeatfresh45 um, just seen it and that particular song MUST have been done just for the awards show because it's not in the West End production- although "Gay or European" got A LOT of laughs!
It just seems like the music was written for Laura. Everybody else is great, but the music fits laura's range, tone, flexiblity and timbre better than anyone else I have heard.
Why is everyone comparing the London version to the 'original Broadway' version? LB has done better in the UK than it has in London hence our UK Tour having better scenery and budget. Every person puts a little bit of themselves in Elle Woods (quote taken from Laura herself when she went to visit Sheridan). Just enjoy the fact that LB is still in the UK.
and to the vcomment below. .. mate. . boy or girl. . I would like to see you do better! its hard work being up on the stage! I should know beinmg Billy Elliot! CUNT!
I like Kate Shindle more as Vivienne but the Elle's pretty good and The girl who plays Brooke has a good voice it's just different from the original one which isn't a bad thing
@omglolwhatever When I saw her(Sibohan Dillon) live, she was amazing! However, wait until you hear her u/s, Suzie. In all Honesty, Suzie is the best Viv EVER. She plays Enid in this video! But don't get me wrong, I do love Siobhan!
I think Susan could actually pull off the Legally Blonde remix dress they used on Broadway. They should have switched it back for her and the Brooke kinda looks like she had bad plastic surgery. That's jus my opinion. I don't really care if you don't agree just don't reply and say I'm wronf cause everybody has their own opinion.
@Dem192 Bullshit. The show has had more success in the UK than it achieved in the USA, with the West End production now running in its third year and still being one of the most popular shows in the West End. Plus, the Broadway version won no awards. The west-end version won 3 Olivier awards (UK tony equivalent) including best actress for Sheridan Smith and Best Musical
@TheJMSmovies NO. All of the greatest and longest running musicals have come from and originated in London from British composers, such as Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Evita, Blood Brothers, Starlight express, Miss Saigon, We will Rock you, Jesus Christ Superstar, Billy Elliot. The list goes on. So you better think twice before saying that. Broadway has produced some fantastic shows, but the classic great musicals have been produced by the West-End :)
@TheJMSmovies When did I say my country was better? I said it was more successful yes, which is true, but I only said that I don't think the Americans are better. They are equally good. You should quadruple check what I said :) Thank you and have a nice day x
@lossie101 The orginal Broadway cast was better though. and BTW, the only reason it lasted longer in london was because on broadway they had some stupid competition that ruined it. so the ORIGINAL cast for broadway is better, tell me why that top comment has 52 likes? Just because the west end show ran longer has NOTHING to do with the broadway cast. broadway is broadway, and nothing will ever beat broadway. so take that andrew lloyd WEBBER! we have stephen sondhiem, so HA
@TheJMSmovies Your entitled to your opinion. But I think the OBC and the OLC are equally good. Not just for Legally Blonde, for every single musical :)
I love the Savoy because it is a small theatre! I think it is one the best musicals I've seen in years. Don't get me wrong I love musicals, and I absoloutly adore the MTV DVD but this production might my best theatrical experience so far. And yes Susan McFadden is an AMAZING Elle! You just can't help but falling in love with her!
@WWEQAF I know you're trying to be rude, but out of all of the musical nominated this year, Legally Blonde was the best. Love Never Dies has too much to live up to. Fela! was barely liked on Broadway at the Tony Awards.
@BiteMe1132 IM not really trying to be rude, just when I think of the shows that Legally Blonde competed against at the Tony Awards (Mary Poppins, Greay Grardens, Spring Awakening, Curtains) Most of those shows would and did blow Legally Blonde out of the water. Hell, it wasnt even nominated for Best Musical here...
@WWEQAF The show benefits hugely from being in a much smaller theatre in London, which makes it more intimate and easier to get into the story.. Plus IMO a lot of the London cast were much stronger than their Broadway counterparts acting wise and some vocally were better too.
I'm really sad that the west end production is closing but I'm happy that it was so successful over in the UK. :D
