  • Grave's too fast.

  • Please, please, Allegro allegro!!! (part1)

The Academy of Ancient Music best forever!!!

  • When the bass player looks up at his fingers to see the note, I realized that it was not going to get any better.

  • This piece works far better with a conductor, and with the Concertino players leading the orchestra. Conductors often impede the music making in chamber music ---- and I say this as a conductor.

  • Well, okay, maybe it's far from perfect. It's just a high school orchestra. I've got to give them credit for doing this. They're not all that bad for a high school orchestra. By the way, which Cooper High School is this since there are more than one Cooper High Schools in the U.S.?

  • Well... Maybe the reason it hurts is because they're playing on period instruments! :P

  • Baroc has no vibrato

  • it hurts omg

  • Eeek the conductor dies it so roboticly

  • intonation.

  • o mio dio

  • I just think it sounds a little rushed.

  • Ouch! Not the orchestra's fault, but the conductor has not understood *anything* about this Concerto...

  • HORRIBLE !!!!!!!

  • Though normally I don't care about this too much with amateur groups playing baroque, I have to say one must keep vibrato to a minimum in Corelli. The suspensions (which he uses alot) don't work properly with heavy vibrato. It sounds thin and nervous.

  • I could not have said this any better.

  • Shut up penguin! I uh mean person ;D Lmfaoooo thts not true at all :DD

  • I'm a cellist. I'm in 7th grade. we're playing this exact piece right now and we've nearly got it perfect :D sort of xD I have the Cello Solo :DDD

  • Pff I bet ur just some loser whose texting an even bigger loser and ur both so lame I bet you both even made up nicknames for each other like panda and penguin gawd u make mi sick! :D<3

  • cello soloist is sounding as if she's pinching at the strings and the sound isn't coming out fully

  • No movement.

  • That sharp is terrifying.

  • complimenti da un giovane violinista italiano appassionato di corelli e di vivaldi

  • the cello solo is incredibly hard! i played it and oh wow lol it wasnt that bad

  • eh.. a bit too much vibrato and you ought to work on your intonation

  • lol don't bag on them...we played this and we sounded worst...they're just high school kids...probably in the class to get through some credit requirement lol

  • most of it is out of tune, especially the two soloists, but it's still good for a HS orchestra. you couldn't hear the violas at all, and the Adagio was too loud.

  • Ew that beginning part was N A S T Y. It's supposed to be Grand and large! I suppose that's the conductor's fault though She's really bad. No movement, just up and down beats. I feel sorry for the students. We're playing this for our county orchestra. we sound MUCH better. Soloists are kinda out of tune....Violas could be A LOT louder. and more in tune. Yuck...Open A's...I am ashamed, as I play viola. They could have done MUCH better.

  • Also they need to work on their dynamics, it was really just all loud, no soft. Just. loud.

  • ehm.. it was a lil out of tune. but overall it was great.

  • it was nice for a hs orchestra :D

...............soloist should ..... not be so stuff? especially the girl

    not... musical enough. no feelings.

  • The Allegro should be a bit faster.

Still needs work but it wasn't so bad.

  • if referring to intonation, but it still was very good

  • something was wrong with 2nd violin

  • you mean the 1st violin on the first movement allegro.

  • no i meant 2nd dude, the boy

  • this is pretty good for a HS orchestra

  • The boy soloist's pinky finger was straight the whole time it drove me insane

  • Some of the comments up here are harsh, but with some I agree. The intonation is way off. I cant hear the soloists half the time because the orchestra is waaaaay to loud.

Also the style of this is completely wrong. Corelli was Baroque era so it shouldnt be so legato and hanging. It should have posture and be bright and springy.

It's a good try, but it needs work, and I hope you do work on it, because it could sound amazing

  • The cello section did a really great job, I could still totally hear them even though the violin was more noticeable. Even though it was a small orchestra it was still really great...but, I do think you need to work on your intonation--the cello soloist especially. I'm playing this piece with my youth orchestra. (I'm in cello, I might be playing the cello solo! I'm first chair.) GOOD JOB GUYS, IT WAS REALLY GOOD!

  • EXCELENTE

  • I have to say, the orchestra plays really well together, but the soloists need to relax a little bit. This style of music does sound very tense and strong, but if you play it tense and too strong, it'll kill it. You have to be super gentle and totaly relaxed and thinking beautiful sound. Lovely orchestra though.

  • It's a shame that orchestra completely drowned out the soloists in tutti sections of the Adagio. It's one of the most beautiful slow movements in Baroque music.

  • Not too fast. Have heard this for 30 plus years and it's exactly right. I love this version. Kudos to all of you.

  • Love your comments. But have listened to this and loved it for many years. Love this version. Can't even begin to imagine playing it myself. GREAT JOB ON THIS. I love it whenever I hear it. If I could play it even half as well, I'd be thrilled. Great job, indeed!! :)) !! LOVE IT!!

  • interpretation needs serious work especially the adagio part, needs to have a distinct difference between allegro portion where 2nd violins have melody, BALENCE pleasee

  • This is supposed to be a light piece, with NO vibrato. I think that's one of the main things that ruin it, I'm playing this at my highschool and it sounds way better w/ none. 1st violinist, you came in with this huge accent at the beginning of the 2nd movement, that's a no no. Violinists as a whole, work on intonation. Cellists sounds high, bassists and violists sound acceptable to me. Soloists, watch your entrances. Remember, light! No vibrato. I hope you guys work on this, good luck.

  • It...it feels dead...

  • the violoncelli were too high...it sounds quite bad unfortunately. PRACTISE

  • There was no feeling in it at all! The intonation needed work, no dynamics, the speed in the allegro was way, WAY to slow. He wrote it that way so the melody shifts between parts seamlessly. The performance definitely could be improved upon.

  • And for the 1st violinist- you really need to work on intonation, because even the beginning of the Allegro was not in tune.

  • Though it really is the teachers fault for picking a piece that the students could not play WELL, the players should have listened to CD's to know how to play this concerto. But just take what I say as something to help you. But really a bunch of 6th-8th graders played this way better, do you feel no shame?

  • But really how can a high school actually play like this? If my middle school played like this my conductor would have stopped use, and either make us restart or not play at all(in a concert)Your conductor should not have let you play this, because it is obviously to hard for you.

  • But the real question is.... do you guys realize how out of tune it is? Also when the cellists and the violinists switched positions you could hear a horrible slur. The 1st violinist should have been more of a leader, and had no excuse to make so many mistakes.

  • Wow......and you are a high school orchestra? My middle school played this....and way better. Please actually listen to what me and other people say. The 1st violinist was out played by the 2nd which isn't saying much anyway. The basses over powered everything, most of it was out of tune, and the sound of the violin soloists was ear piercing. Even the conductor was bad.

  • jajajaa shit it hurts my ears!

  • seriously though, you suck.

  • look ah gut in the white shirt playing the cello. hes holding it wrong!!!!

  • The second violin soloist outdid the first so much it's rediculous. I have the first violin solo for this and the intonation sucked in the allegro...

  • i can play better than that and i'm younger than them! just work on your intonation and more vibrato!

  • intonation should have been worked on...the first Grave seemed a little off as well.

  • It could have used some more work. The violin soloists were rather piercing. Not in a good way, in case you were wondering. They should have spent more time on intonation, too.

  • very bad intination...:S and grotesque posture of cellists:S

  • ehhh.....need to work on intonation
