  • ey ich bin blond

  • i have an original PDS for the saturn, ive never been tempted to sell it. Seen it going for a time around 2002 for around 200-250 on ebay.

That music is still hauntingly fantastic... so much so. I may have to put Heavy Rain on the back burner and play PDS again

  • @KristianTNA heavy rain is boring as hell compared to this, but so is the ps3

  • great game

  • for the ones who want to play :

youll need a powerfull computer and ssf emulator

the game run greatly (note if you want to use backups youll need deamon tools)now just need to find the files.(note2:try to find a bios for the saturn emulation it will be faster)

  • For those who want to play.. Dont be a F*cking pirate buy the console and the game. It is really worth it.

  • the originals are prety rare (and cost aound 100$)

the console can cost near 150$ if working

poor you dont know this game is around 10year old with limited edition?

if you got a original, keep it on a museum or sell it on ebay^^.

  • @Nickzlorry Pirate? Are you fucking serious? Sega's not making any money out of a 10 year old game, dingle berry. Its only pirating if you compromise the profits from a new game. Learn simple economics before you go spouting bullshit. If anything, download the fucking game. Nobody's shelling-out $200 to make some basement dwelling mama's boy rich. Its such a beautiful game that no true gamer should avoid playing it simply because he doesn't have the bank.

  • @Einhander49 It's been a while since your comment and I do understand, the only thing that bothered me was the way you responded, I really didnt intend it in that manner it's just like I am hyped, and to get the full experience you should play it from the real copy :). "basement dwelling mama's boy rich" I hope that wasn't suppose to be me :). I worked for that money :).

  • Can't understand why to do that! If you want to enjoy the game you need a SEGA Saturn and the original game not an emulator!

  • Definitive proof that Sega Saturn owns PS1 any day.

  • AMEN!!!!!!!!

  • not seen this game in years x) never found the \actual game but a magazine gave disc one away as a demo, which i played to death. stunning game world and felt so original compared to other RPGs at that time.

  • There are points in this game... like playing the final boss of zwei theme on *his* battle in saga.. that are points we all inside of us hope to get in game series, we tell "would be fucking great if they did" and we never have.. but this game has EVERYTHING. A remake? to good to be true, but im not selling my saturn and my copy of PDS ever =)

  • Hell of a Great flawless Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Random PDS trivia for you... The voice of Edge is the famous Japanese seiyuu Ishida Akira who plays Athrun Zala in Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny and Gaara in Naruto.

Azel is played by Sakamoto Maaya who is a hugely famous pop singer in Japan as well as the seiyuu for characters like Kanzaki Hitomi in Escaflowne, Lunamaria in Gundam Seed Destiny (so they act alongside each other again!)

I became a big fan of anime after playing this game so when I came back to it I was so stunned! <3 Ishida!

  • Remake this game for XBOX if they do that, even FFXIII goes down.

    Forever Panzer Dragoon.

  • sega lost the code.....

sorry but i would love to see that

I,II,saga/azel and orta in hd for the live arcade and then make a new one

  • @Noahangel21 I dont understand why it has not been done yet. Xbox live is perfect for all the top retro titles, and why do they only release 1 or 2 titles each time? They could release countless games and make loads of money , cause thats what its all about. They would have to make a remake of the game as the original source code is lost though.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME!!! i have recently aquired my own copy of it! however it did cost me £130.00!

  • I loved that game. Has anyone made a video showing the berserks?

  • No, Saga takes place after Zwei. Shelcoof is under repair in Saga after having been destroyed in Zwei (the Dragon Records in Saga feature diary entries from the protagonist from Zwei, which wouldn't be possible if this were a prequel).

  • how do u get the hidden dragon ive played this games for years and still havent figured it out yet

  • I think u have to collect 12 x D-units to get the light wing class.

Once u get the light wing and the baby dragon there is a place you return too and the baby dragon merges with you.. I don't remember much tho...

  • @DigiHatesMakingNames it's in the forest of zoah, under the trees.

  • collect all 12 d units, then go back to shelcoof to merge with the baby dragon.

  • This game looks like it was expensive to make at the time. It must have been a financial disaster for Sega in the same way Shenmue was. I read the developers Team Andromeda had to break up shortly after the release of this game so unfortunately it looks like we'll never get a game like it again. But yeah, I'll be damned if I've ever seen real-time graphics that pretty on a fifth-gen game. Hang your head in shame, Square.

  • Amazing you got the part with Shelcoof into the film. Thought he got permanently destroyed in Zwei but good to know he's still in Saga

  • How do you record these videos? Are you using something like SSF or recording directly from a real Saturn?

  • I don't do saturn emulation cause my pc is pretty much too old.

Its called a video capture card and you hook the saturn directly up to it.

  • Yeah I've done it before, just wanted to clarify how you recorded this. I don't have room for my Saturn to be out any more so when I get the urge to play Panzer for a few hours I load up the emulator SSF which works pretty much 100% as good as the Saturn for PDS nowdays. Very handy when you have a small place and lots of consoles! Anywho, thanks for answering my question.

  • Do all the english subtitled games of panzer dragoon saga play japenese over in the speech? cause im pretty sure mine didnt sound like this. and i also heard somewhere that they play in panzerese sometimes...???

  • It's not Japanese, it just sounds that way because the dialogue is read by Japanese voice actors. It's actually "Panzerese", which is a made-up language consisting of Latin, Ancient Greek and Russian that the developers created for the Panzer Dragoon series.

  • I'm pretty sure it's japanese, though. I'm not fluid in the language, but some key words like "Hurry" (hayaku) or "That/this is" (sore/kore wa) are distinctly spoken in japanese, which is far from what any language involving panzerese would sound like. So... yeah, I'm guessing it's not just the voice acting, but actual japanese.

  • Also, it could be that the panzerese Tom was remembering was from the other games in the series, at least I think in the original one and its direct sequel spoke panzerese, but I honestly don't remember well, so don't quote me on that. ^^

  • No, it IS Japanese. The only time they speak Panzerese is in the beginning and ending subtitles. This is because the player is controlling Edge after the first cutscene and, as such, is supposed to "understand" what they are saying. That is, if you live in Japan. To get the feeling Sega wanted, they should have actually made them speak English in the English version.

  • Hmm. Sorry I have another question...did Paet get killed when Zoah was destroyed?

  • nope, he escapes on his airship, it crashes and then he gets picked up by the seekers and taken to the seekers stronghold.

you can find him there later on along with his broken airship, tho his presence there in the context of the story is just incidental, and his dialogue is minimal; he just sits there looking pensive for the rest of the game.

  • Who was that talking at 2:41? Was it the dragon?

  • that was Crayman

  • Best Saturn game. Honestly.

  • God how I love this game :)

    segasaturn•co•uk

  • Explain.

  • You know, at my local gameshop, this is selling, PRE-OWNED for £85.00, or $167.00!!! Crazy! I HAD that game years ago.

Too bad my Saturn got reset syndrome. >> So I never completed the game. xD

  • i agree best story in a game and the best game of all time hands down no doubt about and i have played them all no game can match pds heart, sega please give the fans what they want at least a remake with updated graphics but what i want is a true sequal PDS 2

  • Sega really needs to make a sequel or a remake. PDS is the greatest game I have played

  • testing...

  • The soundtrack CD of Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei has the full version of the Guardian Dragon music, The Expected Enemy, although the game itself had a shorter one. This is the same version as in Saga,

  • I only got through to disk 2 of the "saga!" But, all the time and effort was worth it!!

  • honestly this game looks badass and it runs damn smooth for a 32bit console.

  • NOOOOOOOOO i'm stuck on this game now and i want to see the ending of it but no 1 has uploaded it....X( but really cool vid but the ending cut short when Azel screams which was weird.lol

  • fav game all time...

  • What can I say, my favorite game... Probably the best game ever made, hardly anyone recognises that though. Shame... Hopefull they'll either do a remake or a direct port... Wishfull thinking!

Nice video too, lol. Nice bits and piece from the best bits, the dragon phoenix on those infernos was very satisfying!

    Matt

  • absolutely my opinion...

    my best game also

  • Magnificent game, certainly the best RPG of the 32-bit era as well as the most unique. It's a safe bet that this remains the best game ever made for Saturn (although NiGHTS and VF2 compare nicely). Too bad that Sega did such a poor job managing the Saturn in the marketplace.

  • Nice vid. I recently just got this game and it's one of my faves now.

  • one of my top 10 games

  • A fantastic game in every sense of the word, and it's still my favourite game after all these years. Although the eBay prices are high, every gamer should experience this at some point.

As a note, the possession of the Dragon Phoenix Berserk at that point in the game must have meant you did some serious leveling up?

And I've never found the full soundtrack for sale- it's so good that everyone wants to keep hold of it!

  • The "Memorial Album" is much easier to find and it's exactly the same as the OST they originally released, except with a couple of bonus tracks. I've got one. Don't bother looking for a soundtrack with this game's extended version of the Guardian Dragon theme, though. They never put that one on a soundtrack for some reason.

  • Still my favorite game, even 8 years after it's release ^^ Thanks for uploading this, brings back memories.

Oh, and its about 20-30 hours long on your first play through but its paced really well, so it's still has that epic feel to it, even if it's a bit short (for it's genre). I'd recommened this game to anyone, but the prices it sells for on ebay are just plain stupid. =/

  • i really wanted this game

  • yes it's possible to be completed in around that time but to get everything can take around 20~25 hours.. If you want to get the hidden dragon then it could take up to 35 hours of levelling.

  • Nice. Looks like most of us missed out on this game. Too bad Sega never ported it to a modern system. That would have been pretty spectacular. Oh well... I've heard the game is really short, though. About 12 hours? Is that true?

  • 20 hours is much more accurate

  • If you wanted to you could blow through it pretty quickly. I know I once went all the way from the start to disc 4 in a day, but you can barely enjoy it that way. I would put it at about 20 hours if you really try to rush it... but why rush it?
