When you master hovering, you'll be able to do anything the the 300CBi. Quite touchy at first, but you've probably already gotten it by now [2 years later]. Nice of you to share your piloting experience.
so when you own your own helicopter and you have licence, are you allowed to fly it anytime you want with permition of control tower or do you have certain time you can fly it?
I've always wanted to put my Simulator training (X-plane) to use in a real Helicopter, I've been flying R/C for a long time and simming for even longer..I'm really familiar with helicopter aerodynamics and characteristics just need the money to get in the cockpit..Would go for my commercial if I had the money!
Man... Hovering looks like a mentally and physically challenging task. Can you imagine the coast guard pilots who have to hover above a moving ship in 50+ knot winds?? I guess that's why they all have over 10,000 hours though.
DAMMMMMMMMMM,I CALL THIS A LONNNNNNNGGGGG,HVER,KEEP UP THE GOOD WOORK KID,AND LITSEN TO YOUR MENTOOOR,WATCH ME WITH MY RC HELI IN A GOOD HOVER,JOES AGUSTA 109....
@jb42682 I had never flown anything before and its a lot to take in at first but not impossible. The cost is high but if its something you love its well worth it. I"m not licensed yet because of the cost and have made the choice to put my training on hold and will finish when I get my own helicopter. The cost of the training will be much cheaper with my own and I will be able to gain hours when I'm done a lot easier than always renting which is an astronomical cost.
@MrUSAPILOT very very nice! I have only been in R44 but never flown. damn I want to fly . I want to ask you: how fast does the heli respond to your inputs?
Great hover... I am also in the Schiezwer. The first time I got to try it that thing got away from me and scared the you know what out of me, but you do get the hang of it and it's the best feeling ever. Good job.
Looks like you're getting the hang of it very quickly. I just started my training, it's a little nerve wrecking what it looks the first couple times, then you begin to REALLY feel the helicopter and you are waay more relaxed... Nice video BTW...
Awesome :)

When did your instructor first let you take control of all three in a hover, you're second lesson? It's hard to start with.

A PPL(H) cost around £14,000 (on R22) in the UK, although depends who you train with. A PPL (fixed wing) is around £7k.. so double the cost.

you learnt to hover in one day with rudder and collective help but you still good dude thats impressive from what ive seen

Brings back memories :) First hover is a B*TCH :) I've flown R44,R22 and 300C. Getting my fixed wing add on with 134.8 helicopter hours.

@MrUSAPILOT Now I need to ask, youre own helicopter?
that sounds quite expensive.
or is it a shared buy?
I would like to know, what the training costs... and can you split it into parts?
It would seem like it, if you can put the training on hold. I imagen you do not need to sart from scrath?

@jb42682 How much was it to rent the 300CBi? I notice they cost around 150,000 to 200,000 used.
I am interested in getting my lisence using My GI bill. Also How mant hours are required? Or how long might it take to complete?
Thank you
