I can confirm that a new promotion called TELUS tuesdays is on at cineplex cinemas as of tuesday Sep. 15th. Today is september 18 and there's nothing about no Storm 2. Now, with the rumours that the Storm 2 will not be unveiled for Verizon until at least october, it seems a bit unrealistic to hope for a Telus release earlier than that, no?

I get better reception in the basement with TELUS than my sister's ROGERS. "Er3s" TELUS customer service don't suck, it just depends who answers the phone or who handles what ever your problem is that's all. Overall, been with TELUS for 4 years now and never leaving TELUS.

Telus sucks, their network is not as good as Rogers, I know about 20 people who have had Telus accounts over the last few years and have had nothing but trouble with their wireless service, but never complain of Rogers wireless services since they switched.

I've heard talk that they'll simply be announcing the 75 winners of a free BlackBerry and plan for a year... it was a student contest thing. The official site for it lists September 15th as the announcement of winners.

That said, I hope it's the launch of their HSPA network and/or the Storm 2. ;)

Daniel you jackass, they're already about to ditch cdma in favour of next gen hspa/lte. CDMA isn't better it just has more coverage, not for long though as telus/bell puts out new towers constantly

There's a good chance of HSPA network launch that day, but I really hope they put out a good phone that is NOT winmo or BB! I'd really like to get a new phone before my equipment exchange offer expires :)

It will be HUGE success if it is a combined announcement of HSPA going live + iPhone 3GS availability ($99 price tag for 8GB?).

It will be a BIG success if it is an announcement of HSPA going live (in certain markets) +/- Palm Pre availability.

It will be a HUGE failure if it's an announcement of an HTC or LG phone.

r u kiddin cdma is way better than gsm there is way more coverage rogers is very much behind telus and bell in the wireless bessiness the only reason there are more rogers customers than there are for telus and bell is because ppl r zombies to tv and c rogers commercials so they buy from rogers and rogers has nicer phones

TELUS doesn't announce phone releases like this. Just he opposite, they announce "phone X will be available Sept 15" and then takes pre-orders. This appears to be a much bigger announcement.
