  • too bad they ruined this scene by speaking with horrible accents in every single one of those languages. i could tell even in the ones that i don't speak

  • A la bestia!!!, yo nomas hablo español y a medias!!!

  • The Spanish sounded like never mind he none did how gay

  • Geez, everyone becomes a fucking critic when it comes this language. He's an actor, it's not as if he's been learning these languages all his life, so get over it, it's a performance piece.

In response to the video itself as a whole: In her face!

  • they cut out the bit where he pulled out his fat triumphant cock and slapped her off her chair with it for being an ugly know-it-all cunt.

  • And they use a bunch of shhh sounds haha should have saved those for the arabic, might have improven their arabic pronunciation

  • hahahaha when speaking swedish she said "uppväxtet" haha that's not even a word! she meant to say "uppväxt" (upbrining) SOOO BAD!!!!

  • they sucks in arabic! i couldn't understand a word and im an arab!

  • why does no one ever speak dutch!

  • Lol spanish is one of the harder language to learn

  • Sorry, I ironically misspelled "intellectually." I didn't proof it.

  • Hey, even though the accents are very inaccurate, I think the attempt was valiant, and this scene is brilliant anyways. As lovers of words and language, we should at least enjoy this scene and the respect for learning that it inspires. The Young Indy series may have some historical inaccuracies as well, but again, it is still admirably educational and very intellecutally inspiring, at least in my opinion. I'm very glad that parts of this wonderful series have been uploaded.

  • GY is GY in Hungarian = Magyar... that's how they spell the quasi DY sound that

can be transliterated as d' for Slavic languages like Russian. You're right about d' but in Hungarian

it's actually spelled gy. GY is a palatal stop tho and not just a D+Y.

  • Generally, when an actor needs to speak a language they don't understand to begin with, they usually either need to learn it really quickly, or they need to read it using the actor's native language's spelling of it (ie. the German phrase "Was ist das?" would be "Voss isst doss?" in English). Either that or they need to dub in the voice, which it would be kind of a mess to find a bunch of people who speak specific languages fluently and that all have to sound like a very specific person.

  • The German here is very bad! How trying hard! It's close to impossible to fake one's knowledge of knowing German!

  • Their Arabic is so funny! hahaha

  • That guy in the video completely copied me!!!

  • His Hungarian is better than hers. It's more like MADyar, not MAGyar. But it's not really D+Y. Your tongue doesn't touch the ridge behind the teeth to make the D or T sound, but hits higher up/farther back. Palatal sound.

  • goodness, the german sounds as if it is spoken by a drunkard.

  • LOL! Loved it! Too bad no Chinese :P

  • His Italian pronunciation is poor. The producers couldn't even find out that "difficile" is pronounced with the accent on the second syllable, not the third.

  • very bad arabic :S

  • His Arabic is a little broken but he actually says "Arabic is the language I learned when I went to Cairo!"... But Cairo was the first place his family went in their travels so technically it's true... For actors playing the part of polyglots they do a good enough job... All in all it's a great clip!

  • lol, yeah, I would be impressed if they could actually speak this many languages, but they can't. I think as actors, they could have done a little better job though. The guy's German accent is hilarious! I'm not making fun of them, I really enjoyed the video, after all.

  • HAHA the swedish part is killing me, its sounds more like german!!

OUPVÄXTET HAHA! IT's a terribble accent but its still understandable.

  • his german accent is terrible.

Seine Deutsche aussprache ist echt schrecklich.

  • next thing he is going to claim to speak Kleyon.

  • @ultradumbass Do you mean Klingon?

  • @txvoltaire i guess it is:) i didn't know how to spell it since i had never actually seen the word in a dictionary but i heard of people speaking about it.

  • stop bitching fuckers they did fine

  • Do they speak japanese xDDD ???

  • It all sounded ok to me. Except I haven't heard a couple of the languages spoken terribly much.

  • It's funny, but could have been done a lot better. I understood the French, German and Italian fine but their accents came through. The Arabic was really terrible though, especially considering it's supposed to be his first language.

  • I enjoyed this way more than I should have. :)

  • The Swedish part contained several errors, both in their pronunciation and grammar. It's certainly comprehensible but not something to be bragging about.

  • Well come on, considering the number of languages they're speaking, the ability to speak comprehensibly in each of them (even with pronunciation and grammar errors) is still quite impressive.

That, and this is a fictional TV series with actors..

  • I KNEW IT!

this is the dude from boondock saints!

  • Apart from the accent issues, this is too fun :)

  • The young Indiana Jones TV series

  • What movie is this from?

  • The italian pronunciation is also awful !

  • yeah,same with greek!

  • I love this scene, the langauge duel is too cool. Unfortunately their pronunciation in arabic is so bad that it is incomprehensible for the most part .
