Yes you can. To come back to normal operation without switch off the climate control, just press and hold the recirculation button and the manual flow control up arrow again. ;-)

I have used some of the codes when buying my AUDI TT 224, it acuallt showed me the fault with engine temp, apeard to be dealer wanted to sell damaged car. So it helps! A lot.
