  • I cryed a lot!

  • I think this film was more about sending a message than box office revenue.

What a noble thing to do

  • bobby i wish you were still here no one should die for how they are. im living a life .jjust like you its been a living hell..

  • I'm 15 and gay. I'm suicidal and feel like I have no self worth.

I just watched this movie and cried my eyes out.

I don't weather or not it made me more or less suicidal.

  • @HatebeingBORNthisWAY I'm "Flummoxed" by what you have to look forward to! So stick around, and your "Uncle" Blaine here, will help you begin the work of learning to love yourself! Questa è una promessa, or "That's a Promise"!

    Zio Blaine

  • @HatebeingBORNthisWAY

It can boast a very active and well established LGBTQ Community! Kiddo the future for LGBTQ folks has never looked brighter! As for the "Continent", why every EU Country has well established civil inclusion for its LGBTQ citizens! And "Ragazzo Dolce" (Sweetie Boy) Italy alone, talk about active, vocal and wonderfully affirming out "Uomini e Ragazzi Caldi" (Hot Men and Boys)! I mean "Mate"....."WOOF"!

  • @HatebeingBORNthisWAY

In fact as of 2013, Bobby will have been gone these 30 years now! As for LGBTQ rights and freedoms, why the UK where you hail from is one of the most progressive Countries in the World!

  • @HatebeingBORNthisWAY

    Ciao Bello!

Kiddo! This is Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, and though I have been moved by your reaction to Bobbys' story, I must tell you that all of this happened a very long time ago in a far different World from the one that you and I as "Gay" folks live in today!

  • i couldn't stop crying, i was really mad and angry! no one deserves that! he was like anybody else.

whats the name of this song?

  • im overwhelmed with emotion, I cant stop crying, truly an amazing movie

  • I cried even just watching this trailer!

  • @YuOceanwood have you seen the movie? so so sad .. me and my mum were crying :(

  • @DanZyG6

No i havent seen the whole movie yet, but they did edit this trailer so well, it's like a powerful advocacy video! i will totally watch this movie when i have time, but not with my mother, it's gotta be kinda embarrasing^_-

  • @YuOceanwood oh my gosh you HAVE to watch it! Make time to watch it :D

  • @YuOceanwood So did I!

  • @YuOceanwood So do I

  • guys ITS OKAY TO BE GAY ! get out the closet dont be afraid to be who u are!

  • @yoniforyoni

    Shalom!

This is Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, wishing to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this great "Mitzvah" you've posted here!

    Blaine

  • tears wont stop from my eyes

  • I Teared up a bit just watching the trailer :/

  • :((((

  • Bobby was handsome guy!

joy (bobby sister) lookes very similar to him

  • This movie was recommended to me by a counceler and i can relate to it in so many ways because after i told my mom i was lesbian she said to reacted just the way bobby's mom did and me and bobby both had the same response "why cant you accept me as i am" and all my mom said was "your not gay.God can cleanse you.I will not have a gay daughter(instead of son cuz im a girl) and our moms are both religiouse

  • @trollsrawsome Make no mistake darling, no matter what any self described person of "Religious or Seeming Moral Values" tells you, you are in fact a "Child of G-D" lesbian or not! And are loved by and precious to him, unequivocally! And I Luvs Ya Too!!!!!

Con L'Amore e Molti Baci! (Lots A Love n' Kisses)

    Zio Blaine ("Uncle Blaine)

  • @trollsrawsome

Cara Ragazza Bella! (Dear Beautiful Girl)

This is Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, who did in fact go on to study "Theology" and consume "Biblical Studies", ending up a follower of "Christ"!

  • @blainebill39 Really!?

  • @alexpjp

    Ciao!

My Friend! I've placed so many comments here, that I cannot be certain exactly what your "Really?" is in relation to?

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Hi!

    You really were his boyfriend?

  • Comment removed

  • @alexpjp

Yes my friend, Bobby's eyes and mine first made contact when I was 16 and a half, in a Walnut Creek Deli that he worked in! But because I was with both my folks at the time we wouldn't actually meet and start dating for another year from that point! I'm actually in the late Leroy Aarons' book "Prayers for Bobby" which Mr. Aarons had based in part on Bobbys' surviving diaries! In those diaries it tuns out, that ours was the only "Romantic" relationship that Bobby recorded!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 so when Bobby was 17? I just watched the film and I thought this David was the only man he had a relationship with.

  • @alx64uzumaki The "David Character" from Lifetimes' movie was completely fictional! I'm actually in the late Leroy Aarons' book "Prayers for Bobby" ! Which Mr. Aarons had based in part on Bobbys' surviving diaries! In those diaries, ours was the only relationship that Bobby wrote of! He does not appear to have actually had a "Love Interest", after his move up to Portland!

  • Wow

This movie made so well !

    Ryan Kelley your great actor

  • Uh this trailer just told the whole movie

  • what is the name of the music in the second part of this trailer pls???

  • OMFG THIS IS SO SAD!!!!!!

  • i think people aren't interpreting this movie correctly. bobby killed himself because his mother was doing a horrible job at confronting him about his homosexuality. that is a choice that is decided by you. i think bobby felt this way because he was accepted more in the wrong ways. im not saying god hates gays because that would be wrong because god loves all of us. im just saying the mother sucked at raising her son, and i think that was the whole point of the movie, not that being gay is okay.

  • @TheWillaman being gay IS ok, god told me so

  • @TheWillaman

    Ciao!

Somehow I think you actually believe yourself to be kind and reasonably minded here? And it's nice to see that you're not stating that G-D hates gays! Because as Bobby Griffiths' old lover "Blaine" here, I could and would refute that one in a heartbeat! As for the Lifetime Movie, its' "Point" if you will was to take Bobby and Mary Griffiths' tragic story and bring it from its original biographical form, to a much wider audience! "Not that being gay is okay", how quaint!

  • Pure amazingness.

  • I can relate to this movie so much. I'm lucky to still be alive. Truly the longer you hold on the better it gets. Just gotta realise there will always be challenges that might take longer to conquer. All you gotta do is hold on.

  • @romin256

    Ciao Bello!

"Romin Bello" this is Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, just wishing to let you know how proud I am of you, and am so pleased to see these words of gratitude and hope that you've placed here!

Con L'Amore e Molti Baci! (Lots A Love n Kisses)

    Blaine

  • my names is lincoln soundtrack is totally out of place... its to epic for this trailer..

  • Bobby and Mathew are both in heaven. God bless the two of them. :)

  • It's easy to twist a story, to romanticize a dark thing. To teach Americans of all ages that you should accept, even embrace, warped sexuality is very dark. It brings death. Let's help homosexuals to become normal human beings. They often commit suicide. My friend did. They often loathe themselves.

  • @vagabondrecon

And if "Homosexuals" often loathe themselves it's due in no small part to the most egregious treatment they've received at the hands of an often times "Savage" and hypocritical Society! The only "Dark Thing" I see here is your outlook!

    Sinceramente!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Blaine, I didn't write the above and am wondering if my account has been hacked...???

  • @vagabondrecon

    Ciao!

It's your extreme and, I thank G-D "Out Dated" and at long last "Marginalized" view here that is "Twisted"! I can assure you, as Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend that the only truly "Romanticized" part of Lifetimes' dramatization was the "David'" character who was completely fictionalized!

  • @vagabondrecon

Explain me why it should not exist, in your opinion. Why do you think that two person loving each other is very dark only because they sare the same gene. It is people that refuses to understand them that pushes them to suicide. And most of the time, the hatred is not even justified ; they just do because they were told to hate. So, tell me, what are your reasons ? Because, seriously, I asked the same question to many person and I always convinced them to be wrong.

  • Religon at its finest, ladies and gentlemen.

  • @GrandInquisitor7

Again Señor de Torquemada, you seam like "Persephone", to reappear from "Hades" all too frequently!! But unlike her, you bring no "Spring" with you so go back!!!

  • @GrandInquisitor7 Barney Rubble is the Antichrist and proof man existed with the dinosaurs. Bam Bam, super human strength? Pretty obvious if you ask me. Also, Fred Phelps worships the rectum, ANY rectum.

  • @Grandlnquisitor7

    Ciao Bello!

You've got Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here rolling with "Belly Laughs" from this one my friend! This is definitely not the "Grand Inquisitor" I'm usually responding to! He's a true "Tomás de Torquemada" SOB! You on the other hand are one "Ragazzo Dolce" or "Sweetie Boy"!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 lol. Believe it or not, it's a she! Just like the Phelps, this skank trolls youtube for the hate she craves to make her believe that she's some sort of chosen "daughter of God". Quite pathetic.

  • @Grandlnquisitor7

    Ciao Bello!

Thanks for letting me know "Ragazzo Dolce"! She is pathetic, inculcated in all her bigotry, peppered or armed with impotent snippets of "Biblical Psychobabble"! How "frapping" delusional "Daughter of G-D" indeed, more like a 'Daughter of Mammon"! But again thanks for the heads up, Sweetie Boy!

    Blaine

  • When the mother hugged a boy at the parade. Seeing her son on that stranger. I felt as if I was the one who have been hugged... A very touching moment which melt my heart and I sobbed like a 12-year old kid. It pains us when other people forsake or discriminate us but it's unbearable if our family specially our mom will disown us. Please pray for us who are still struggling for acceptance...

  • I feel like I just saw the movie. That will save me some money.

  • The mom was a stupid bitch and that's why her son died but I'm glad she stopped being a stupid bitch and made the best of what she could with her stupid bitch mistake.

    Stupid bitch. :'(

  • This movie left me broken, frustrated, and angry, but by the end credits, it left me with so much hope and inspiration for a world that is accepting, and loving. A world where everyone can be happy and safe, no matter who they are.

    RIP Bobby.

  • @MelissaAimeeNoel

    Ciao Bella!

Melissa "Ragazza Dolce" (Sweetie Girl) ! Don't feel broken honey, this all happened a very long time ago! I'm glad that Bobbys story did in the end leave you feeling hopeful because, Bobbys' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" is here to tell you that the hope you feel is very justified! Things have never looked better for queer (LGBTQ) people! But I am 'Over The Moon" proud of you darling for expressing your hopes and kind wishes so strongly, and sweetly I might add!

  • I'm not gay and I have mixed feelings about it, but this movie really touched me. I was crying. I thought Bobby was such a beautiful person and a lost soul. I agreed with his cousin. He should've been commended and not condemned. I think that if I was a mother, I couldn't turn him away. He would still be my son.

  • @jandi989

    Ciao Bella!

You're "Spot On" darling, Bobby was all of those things! But what I find most remarkable sweetie, is that in the wake of Bobbys' story going global, wonderful straight folks like you honey have been moved! And I just bet your 'Feelings" are a little less mixed now? I'd imagine that you are now, or will some day in fact make an outstanding Mother!

    Cheers Sweetie!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Dude, I've always thought gay people were cool. In fact, when I was in a high school (and that was a while back), I had a friend who swore he loved me. I only liked him as a friend since I thought he was quite a dork. I knew it was only a matter of time before my dorky friend would come out. Sure enough, a few years after HS your little buddy came out. And now he's happy and gay living his lovely life. heeheehee

  • @jandi989

    Ciao Bello!

Wonderful hearing back from you! I'm just out here trying to gently help all of my sweet young brothers and sisters gay and straight understand, that what happened or became of my poor Bobby was something that did in fact occur a very long time ago! If only we could have left it back in the last century! Sadly no, but I'm doing what ever I am able to put an end to this nightmare! I truly thank you for the friendly warm hearted person you are! You Rock "Buddy"!!!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 If you like eating rice with a straw that's your deal. Hey, as long as you're happy and you don't kill or maim anyone why should anyone be in your business?

  • @jandi989

Ha Ha "Rice With A Straw" that's a new one on me!! I thought I'd heard most of them "Bone Smoking"

"Flute Playing" but that one's got me laughing!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Just curious. Are you Italian or something? Why the ciao bella?

  • @jandi989

No my friend I've spent a great deal of time in Italy over the coarse of the years and just love greetings, salutation and "Sweet Nothings" in what I believe to be the warmest language in "The Western World"! As for "Ciao Bella" I read you wrong before my first response and amended the next accordingly! Ciao Bello or Bella is a common greeting that literally translates "Hello Beautiful" but it's in no way a "Come On", just cordial and polite!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Dude, I know basic Italian, but thanks for the info anyway. heeheehee I never took it as a come on. I just thought you were being friendly.

  • I cried

  • 28 years since Bobby died (8/27/1983 - 8/27/2011)

But his story remains and have touched a lot of people's heart.

And i hope that one day, the world will keep an open mind on homosexuality to create a world full of love and happiness for LGBT people

  • @evilboy2404

    Ciao Bello!

May G-D bless you for that "Ragazzo Dolce" (Sweetie Boy)! Bobbys' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here has the same hope, and he no I of coarse believe it to be within sight! I just have to continue to demonstrate effectively to younger gay folks, that todays' world in no way resembles the one in which Bobby and I were "out" in!

    Blaine

  • @evilboy2404

    Ciao Bello!

"Amico Mio" I've been wanting to offer a "Shout Out", and bless this great comment for some time now! And with such a remark as this, I'm certain the YT username "evilboy24904" is complete and utter "Hyperbole" ! It's more likely than not "ragazzodolce24904" in "Italiano" any way, in English that would be "sweetieboy24904" ! Or so says Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here! And that World you're calling for "Sweetie Boy" is well within sight!

    Blaine

  • It's so sad to know that some people are still narrow-minded enough to accept the other people with different sexual orientation. And the saddest is,that most of the times, they accept them, only when those people kill themselves because they can't stand rejection.I mean,I'm straight But even If i wasn't wouldn't I stop being my mom's daughter? Why should her feelings for me change just because I'd like girls?I'd still be the same person.

  • Does anyone know the song at 1:00?

  • This is the kind of film that Michele Bachmann and Christine O'Donnell should watch.

  • Comment removed

  • @jukodebu Because they believe that homosexuality is a choice, and that homosexuals can be "healed". This movie proves that that isn't true, and it also reminds us all of the great damage that that kind of prejudice and ignorance can do! No matter how hard u try, no matter how much u pray: if u're gay, then that's it, and the sooner u accept it, the better.

  • I don't think i've ever been more moved by a film after watching this, so emotional. I wish every religious person were made to watch this film so that they could share the values that Mary Griffith develops towards the end. Unfortunately there are still some narrow minded people who can never accept people for who they are because their "Bible" tells them so and for that I pity them

  • so beautiful movie... i cried

  • I feel that this movie is so colse to my real life, I have the same problem with my family, but we dont talk about it anymore, like i never said anything

  • @kille6 I came out to my parents and its like I never said anything. Its going on 6 years and we have made no progress. They even thought this movie was a sin.

  • @shpidoinkleboy it's been 2 years for me and i dont know if I can wait for them to accept me. I wanna live my life and being me 100%. It's hard

  • @kille6 Yeah its just not worth it or fair to yourself to wait. Who knows how long it will be before they change, it's important to try to worry about the things you can control. The things you can control are how you're living your life and how much pride you have in it. It took me a long time to separate how I felt about my life from how my parents feel about my life. It's about making a support family outside of your real one that will love you and support you. At the end of the day thats it

  • @shpidoinkleboy

    Ciao Bello!

Zacary "Amico Mio" Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here did in fact visit your beautiful channel and added you as per your request! You're going to go to "Gotham" my friend, and a whole new world will open up for you! And regardless of what your folks have said, you are in fact a child of G-D and precious in his sight! My Mother and her wonderful husband used to live on Manhattans "Upper East Side" , though I'm envious, I'm also very happy for you!

  • @shpidoinkleboy This is sad, but sometimes, some people are so convinced in their mind of something that they aren't even open to new ideas. This is what I hate about religion and even preconcieved ideas transmitted by your family. People don't think things through, they just repeat what they've been taught. I remember once that a friend who hated homosexuality explained it by saying that he found it disgusting to imagine it. So I asked why he was imagining it in the first place.

  • @Dagorick You would think of your parent in the same way and find that as disgusting. Or you would think of your friends doing it, and you would find it at least strange. Point by point, he explained me why he didn't approve of. And I made him think about what he said, making him see how most of his points were unjustified. I don't know your parents, but you could always ask them what is really bothering them in that. It takes a lot of courage, I know, but it could help.

  • think befor you speak ! things like that happen every day ! and for what ? being gay ? what's wrong with that ????

  • Unnatural? Well, then tell that to swans, gulls, vultures, penguins, dolphins, bisons, apes, elephants, monkeys, lions, gorillas, sheep, lizards and DRAGONFLIES. Seems they didn't get the memo.

  • It's sad that her son had to die in order for her to act with compassion...

  • @Sergo91 amen to that. and what made me cry more was the MUSIC

  • This movie was the first one ever in my life to make me actually cry...

  • Ugh, I've watched this movie so many times and everytime it brings me to tears.

  • @shahinspeaks

    Ciao Bello!

Shahin "Amico Mio"! That's very sweet of you, but I have been to your channel where you describe yourself on video as "A Studious Bitch"? If that's the case "Ragazzo Bello e Dolce" (Handsome Sweet Boy), might Bobby Griffiths' old boyfriend "Blaine" here, recommend you get a copy of the late Leroy Aarons' original biography "Prayers for Bobby", and delve a little further into Bobby and Mary Griffiths' story? I' think you'd draw a lot from it "Kiddo"!

    Blaine

  • seriously, homophobe parents need to watch this. what an amazing movie i swear.

  • @katanateen33

    Ciao Bella!

Tiki Darling! It's Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend here, to say that you my dear are what's amazing!

    May G-D Bless You!

    Blaine

  • @katanateen33 I agree!!! Wish my father would watch this when he finally knew the truth about my brother beeing gay...It would have helped him alot. My father felt bad for himself and didn't want anyone to know, but everyone had known for three years before he was even told because we knew he hated gay people and was/is extremely christian...The became friends again after a while, something i never thought was going to happen...The sad thing is my dad still has issues with giving him a hug :(

  • Dont hate the sinner hate the sin.

  • @SuperLOVEOUTLOUD um just to let you know its not a sin to be gay.

  • My friend just sent me this clip, and I'm straight and I seriously can't understand how people think being gay isnt normal? What's wrong with them. Why cant people just undersatnd it's all about love and being happy... I wish everyone could stop this stupid hatred. It dont matter if you're straight or gay to be my friend, as long as you have a beautiful heart :)

  • @Fashion4life

    Ciao Bella!

"Ragazza Bella" It's Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend here, to say that it will be wonderful, mostly straight of coarse, people like yourself who will make up the final tipping point of a "Paradigm Shift" that has been at work in societies the world over, since Bobbys' death so long ago!

Grazie Mille Ragazza Bella! (Thank You Very Much Beautiful Girl)

    Blaine

  • omg it's so sad, but it's still happen, i love him respect for the maker of this movie!

  • Fuck Jesus freaks!!!

Christianity is a virus, far worse than Islam. The faster it is eradicated, the better it is for Humanity.

  • @rishi851 bro there are those christians who accept gays too. God bless you

  • @rishi851 Come on man, not all Christians are hateful.

  • @rishi851 Why is Islam bad? What maes it bad?

  • Comment removed

  • @PopRocks112 No, it didn't take place in the 50's, but rather in the 80's........ which is incredibly shocking, if you want my opinion.

  • en vdd una historia impactante, en vdd te hace llorar....y te pone a pensar lo que en vdd significa amar

  • I cried... Just by this trailer... Man I need to see this and have my mom see it too. Maybe she'll accept me.

  • @MykolAlexander Yes, you definitely should watch it with your mom! :) I saw the movie more than once, and it's clear to me that I'll tell whoever can't accept me to watch it because, in my opinion, nobody in his right mind can see Prayers for Bobby and remain hateful and non-accepting regarding LGBT youth. I wish you good luck and hope things will get better with your mom. :)

  • @MykolAlexander I felt exactly the same way when I watched it the first time. *hug*

  • @MykolAlexander all the best

  • This is so sad, i wanted to punch the mom in the face when she said "I wont have a gay son" I mean, JESUS, who would hate their own son for who they like!? thats just stupid! I would love my children, gay or not. I would just be happy that they trusted me enough to tell me this. There is nothing wrong with being gay!

  • @LGBTtvforum0509

    Ciao Miei Amici!

Folks I just have to express my joy and complete surprise at what transpired today! After placing comments on these video clips for well over a year now, I had wondered if somehow I could reach Mary, Bobby Griffiths' mother, who I hadn't spoken to in years! Just today she contacted me, and after a few delightful exchanges, where I offered to go to Walnut Creek and take her out to coffee, she emailed me back inviting me to a "Family Barbeque" this Sunday!

    Ciao Bello!

To answer your question, Bobbys' eyes first met mine around the middle of 1980, within about 8 months of that time he and I would actually meet and quickly become lovers and friends. Bobby left for Oregon if I recall correctly in early or mid 1983, his death is listed as August 27 of that year!

  • Does anyone know what the song is at 1min!?

  • Religion = Belief = Ignorance = Bobby's death. And how can it be wrong, that 2 people love eachother? Regardless of the gender. I seriously hope all hobophobes sleeps well after seeing this.

  • I remembered the first time I watched this movie, I cried like a baby.

  • @kenkenka ive seen it twice- ive bawled my eyes out both times!!!

  • If Sigourney Weaver cries in this film, I'm going to lose it. I can't stand to see her cry - it breaks my heart.

  • I felt really sorry for his mom, she was so ruined by religion. Sad to see people without control over their lives.

  • wow so pleased i saw the movie before the part where he commits suicide is such a good scene mainly becuase u dont know

  • @kingstevokingstevo

Bless you all, this must have just aired in the UK recently, because all you fantastic kids are showing up on these pages in impressive numbers, with your sweet and heartfelt responses! Believe it or not kids, Bobby Griffiths' lover/boyfriend here, didn't actually see this adaptation of Bobbys' story until a couple of months ago! More than two years ago after its original release, and I must say I didn't find it as difficult as I had imagined it would have been!

    Blaine

  • This gave away WAY too much about the movie

  • @MrIIDannyII I agree. I'm glad I've seen the movie, otherwise I'd be super pissed :P

  • I HAVE to watch this. Bobby,I love you. <3

  • @datprettylilemochick

    Ciao Bella!

    "Amica Mia" Darling!

I just wanted you to know sweetie, that Bobby Griffiths' lover/boyfriend of long ago here loves wonderful straight young boys, and girls like you! It will be your generation who will think with their heads, and feel with their hearts, that will ultimately make all the difference! Bless You "Cara Ragazza Bella"! (Dear Beautiful Girl)

Il Suo Nuovo Amico Per Sempre (Your New Friend Always)

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Thank you,Blaine. That means a lot to me.

    Love,

    Lauren

  • Bobby is amazing, a true human being. He suicide Bcoz he was confused of what and who really is And He was very Frustrated to someone that could led him to regretful and confusion. I was very sad and happy bcoz someone had to sacrifice his life just to be granted the acceptance of Homesexual and lesbian in this world that we(Homosexuals and lesbians) shouldn't ask or to beg the acceptance from those people Discriminating us. And i know why GOD Let this Happened Bcoz we are Human Being.

  • This seems so sad!!! T.T I need to watch it. I dated a girl, and I am girl. But I realized I wasn't gay so...and my mom was kinda mad, but my mom would never be like U AREN'T MY DAUGHTER...so sad what parents will do. I know a kid who goes to my school and he is homeless cuz his parents kicked him out becuz he was gay. :( I would never do that.

  • thank you bobby your sacrifice and your mom speech saved so many lives. It is men like you that paved the way to understanding. R. I. P. Bobby and i know you look at us from heaven.

  • This is going to be a very moving film...(Can't wait to watch it) God loves everyone, no matter what your sexual orientation is! Be proud of who you are!
