the people who catch them get them from the same colonie because each tube contains about 25 so 25 is little for a real colonie

I want to know how do u all catch the ants and let it survive for such a long time? because i have got one ant works myself.. but i have difficulty catch the ants because everytime i open e lid and put in one.. the others will escape.. also, they dun survive long.. maybe juz a few days.. in singapore, we can't buy ants like in america and canada..

I didn't catch the ants, I ordered them through the mail. The ants lived from New Years Eve (1-1-08) until the middle of June. Longer than we expected.

just worker ants wont survive long, if u had a mated queen (a queen without wings) they could live for years. i have a lasius niger colony (english black ant)

with a queen, not a kids antfarm but a proper one, i wouldnt recommend a queen with an uncle miltons or gel ant farm

Thanks, I made it for my daughters science project. She started two colonies and then connected them to see what the ants would do. She was hoping for ant wars, she got ant cooperation instead.
