Nice car. If you are looking for auto parts checkout Wixs Tuner Directory. They have special discounts and links to sites that have a lot of car parts at low price and its totally free.
Just type "Wixs tuner Directory" into google to go to site
Its a H22A blueprinted and fully built it had Type-S pistons & sleeves, skunk2 cams, valves & retainers, head was ported and polished, battery was relocated. stock P/S pump. no cat... I think thats most of the questions, never dynoed
@Jab2Hook He's talking about that annoying bee or tinny exhaust sound that most honda's have. Either way, he's a dumbass. The car doesn't sound ricey. Most 4 cylinders with cams make this sound.
v8 power usually comes with a heavy car like a mustang or a camaro
4 cylinder power usually powers a lightweight vehicle
if you put added horsepower into an already light vehicle you add some weight but because the added weight is still lighter than any stock v8 car you will always have more speed than a v8 powered car. If you do not believe me, go to your local track and watch the import vs. muscle car drags. Most of the time imports win.
@insertblackname Not sure where you go but i wouldn't agree with that. F bodies may be heavy from the factory, but fox bodies only weigh in around 3200 lbs. My dart, when finished, will put approx 450 hp and 450 ft lbs to the ground and will only weight approx 3300 with me in it. My buddies 74 Dart has never lost to an import and is full body, full interior, and only running a small block. Don't get me wrong I can appreciate a well built sport compact, but sometimes they're not worth the cost.
darts arent that heavy of vehicles though compared to most other muscle cars. if you put 450 hp in a car thats dart size with 450 to the ground of course it will be fast. Alot of import owners like their cars because they are lightweight but they are also cost efficient and parts are easy to come by. The track i go to is california speedway's dragstrip in fontana, CA. And most of the muscle cars there were getting beat by the imports, there were veryyy few who beat the imports.
@insertblackname A lot of the old Mopars were close to that in weight. When you go to the 3rd gen F bodies they only weigh in around 3500 curb weight as well. Maybe guys aren't serious about muscle out there, because I'll only be running a decent cam, cast iron heads, andflat top pistons with pump gas to make about 525 at the crank. As far as availability on parts, SBC is about as cheap as parts come. You can build a reliable 400 hp Chevy for less than 2K with good parts.
@MKIVowner i guess u dont no any thing about honda motors then dick head on the h22 its on the back of the motor not on the side like thay have on b16s and b18s y dont u go read up on all the motors honda makes
@MKIVowner i give u a quick 101 on honda vtec motors h22 on the back cam right behind the distrubter . any b series motor its on the front cam where u can see it any time and on any vtec sohc motor its right on the back of the head
@MKIVowner i own 6 hatch back civics my motors list like this all vtec sohc d15,f22,dohc b16a,b18c5,h22a1,and a custom bilt motor b18c5 block h22a1 trans re bilt and a b16 head with b20 cams its fully bilt and runs over 750whp turboed on 21 pounds of bost if u have any more questions about my bild let me no ill send u a spec list
@BUFFALORON15 I got a ef hatch what is the best engine swap for it. i got the d15 that came with it but i want an upgrade. also will i need a whole lot of electrical stuff on it because of the engine swap?
@MKIVowner what do u want to swap in to it like u have ur pics of vtec or non vtec u could do a turbo bild on a b20 and have an easy 300hp (230-250whp) with out puting sleves in it and just geting a turbo and doing ur cams and shit like the easy stuff with out ripin the hole motor down and its non vtec or u could go all motor bild with a b16 b18 h22 like anything u want and ur all ways best to pull all the wireing with the motor if u can or go to a scrap yard and get it just have the right comp
Regardless of the blue valve cover, the only way to possibly know what engine this is, is the block code. You can buy valve covers for $150, could be an h22 could be the h23. Who cares anyways? It's a damn clean car so watch and enjoy.
@masterricecake it could be one of a few things, either a rare H23 VTEC (Honda made a few, for the Japanese Accord SiR-T Wagon), or more likely an H22 with a repainted valve cover.
your the IDIOT,98-01 ACCORD SIR wagon H23VTEC IS A FACTORY MOTOR!!!!!!! Your also wrong about the BLUEH23 valve cover,it only came on JDM H23 AND F20B VTEC USDM H23 HAD BLACK VALVE COVER AS DID JDM H23 non-vtec.GET YOU FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU BUMP YOUR GUMS FISH
@derrick2771 You do realize, that spraying it makes it a non motor car right? If you're running on motor you're not spraying it, if you're spraying it, you're not running on motor.
@JDMxGSRxVTEC Maybe you should check out CRX vs Lambo on youtube. The CRX has a 1.8 and smokes the lambo twice. The S2K stock is around 200hp out of a 2.2L stock. Add a P&P, high rev valve train, and a little more displacement with a good fuel management system and you've got alot more power than stock.
ya i think everyone has seen that video, that has nothing to do with this, and this kid is saying a stock s2k would beat a stock z06, which will never in a fucking million years happen
It all really just depends how the motor is built. If its a small displacement motor its going to be (usually) a rev happy motor.
Look at F1 motors. Renaults for example... its a 2.4 liter V8 that red lines at 19,000 rpm. Doesn't make a whole lot of torque but a shit ton of horsepower.
Different kinds of motors will have different power bands.
LMAO! Oh yes, it's extremely awesome when a 500 HP Vette gets beaten by a 250 HP Honda! 1/2 the horsepower, smoking American muscle is teh win. See, these cars take skill to drive and to shift, unlike V8's where you just stick your foot in it and go. Grow up.
Dude... I was going to say that the k20 > than all others, but then i thought about it, and i could think of a few different kinds of v8s that could pwn it, so i said all honda motors, sheesh.
funny how you say that the H22 has more stock HP and torque than a K20... but that doesn't matter because the k20 is newer so its automatically better... the K20 better for boost and thats only under stock application if you build a h22 for boost id bet for the money the H22 will come out on top... newer is not always better at least not for the price
My H22 had the same hesitation at startup (2nd try fires up - old uberdata tuning on obd1 p72) re-tuned the fuel delivery at startup with crome pro, all is smooth now...
same with toyota vvt, but basically everyone has some sort of vtec. But hondas vtec is just unreal you can really hear it switch over, on like some other cars with vtec.
actually no honda wasnt. they where the 1st to PERFECT it. most other companies that use variable valve timing, never got the right timing and the inner workings right and so they just put it off till honda got there hands on it and ran with it.
drive a ford probe gt 2.5 (non-turbo) they have it. Also Ford Taurus SHO had variable valve timing. Nissan has it in there Spec-V dont know if that was before honda tho
damn this is a pretty bad ass video hey does anybody know where the crankshaft position sensor is located in a h22a of a 2001 prelude if someone knows please reply
hey on a 2001 prelude h22a it messed up from the pistons on a miss shift but i fixed it and everything i just need to calibrate the motor or something like that what are the measurements if some one knows
prob is toda vtec killer cams...but they only make power above i think 4 or 5k rpm its pointless for daily driving :/ sick car tho ugly color but sick motor!
toda vtec killers do, they eliminate the middle lobe as well as the lost motion assembly. I understand what your saying, but this is the rare time when a honda camming makes sense.
When you're racing, your gear ratio keeps you above 5,000 RPM anyway - so why eliminate Vtec when you can still have 2 functional profiles that keeps your car streetable?
Camming might make sense on some forced induction motors that have a strong midrange powerband, but not this one.
Dont people know with a big cam low end torque is sacrificed? hondas cant afford to lose any low end torque.
VTEC gets a bad rap but it really is great, the idles lobes are designed for low end and the high cam optimises the top end, so i can see changing the high cam but dont mess with the low cam

drive a ford probe gt 2.5 (non-turbo) they have it. Also Ford Taurus SHO had variable valve timing. Nissan has it in there Spec-V dont know if that was before honda tho

prob is toda vtec killer cams...but they only make power above i think 4 or 5k rpm its pointless for daily driving :/ sick car tho ugly color but sick motor!
xxnissansilviaxx1027 3 years ago
vtec cars that cam are retarded....they don't use the same cam lobes at all when they're idling vs. when they're in the higher rpms
smd4life 3 years ago
toda vtec killers do, they eliminate the middle lobe as well as the lost motion assembly. I understand what your saying, but this is the rare time when a honda camming makes sense.
mikethecollector 3 years ago
Nah I'd have to agree with smd4life.
When you're racing, your gear ratio keeps you above 5,000 RPM anyway - so why eliminate Vtec when you can still have 2 functional profiles that keeps your car streetable?
Camming might make sense on some forced induction motors that have a strong midrange powerband, but not this one.
nonsoundflux 3 years ago
couldnt have said this better myself.
Dont people know with a big cam low end torque is sacrificed? hondas cant afford to lose any low end torque.
VTEC gets a bad rap but it really is great, the idles lobes are designed for low end and the high cam optimises the top end, so i can see changing the high cam but dont mess with the low cam

sounhds like vtec killer cams?
