My dad served on Hood until his transfer to HMS Kylemore, just a month before Hood's sinking. He lost many good friends. Six months later, Kylemore met her fate too, at the hands of German Dorniers, & my dad was one of only 8 survivors. He was awarded the DSM for courageous conduct during & after the sinking. the point i was making in regards to the prev mentioned US BB classes is that their AA defence as designed was inferior to that of the Bismarck. Their only good aspect was their DP secondary armament. but as ive pointed out to someone previously (not sure if it was you). the DP guns shot down only a small proportion of aircraft compared to the lighter AA guns.

My dad served on Hood until his transfer to HMS Kylemore, just a month before Hood's sinking. He lost many good friends. Six months later, Kylemore met her fate too, at the hands of German Dorniers, & my dad was one of only 8 survivors. He was awarded the DSM for courageous conduct during & after the sinking. The medal was pinned on his chest by Lord Mountbatten.

The reason they laid scutlling charges was the crew were worried she would be captured by the british and used as a war trophy. But the brits was not going to do that, they were going to keep hitting her at close range with shells and torpedoes untill she sunk.

Look people im gona make this real simple.The Bismarck and her escort Prinz Eugene were trying to get out into the atlantic ocean.They spotted two british ships the Hood and the Prince of Wales.The commander of the Bismarck didnt want to start a fight but the Brits opened fire and so he had to shoot it took only like 3 minutes till the Hood got hit in the midships and exploded.There were only 3 survivors.The Prince of Wales retreated and the Bismarck and Eugene ran for it.

U should watch how US Navy planes sunk the Yamoto which was bigger than Bismarck. The British carriers had outdated Swordfish Planes that were so slow the Bismarcks guns could go slow enough to target them. British Carriers with Swordfish planes top speed 125 MPH could not supply air defense and that why the Brits lost two of them.

the main one was to stop America from being divided, the southern states were fully entitled to leave the union (since it was voluntary), but a divided country is obviously going to be weak so the union acted to prevent the country from being divided.
why doesnt the US remove troops from guantanamo? or is cuba still a threat?

the US went into a joint venture with the germans in regards to the design of a new MBT, they had a disagreement, the US went with the Abrams (of which the first had the 105mm BRITISH canon, the rest armed with the german designed 120mm gun), and the germans went ahead and built the Leopard 2 (despite other countries concerns).
WOW you really need to learn REAL HISTORY, America gave european countries nukes to counter the USSR, not germany.

it never shows any celebration on the Bismarck (as would be expected if it was a pro war film), it shows an image of the Hood's crew, showing the PEOPLE that died on the "enemy's" side would not be a smart thing to do in a pro war film, since it humanises the loss.

the point i was making in regards to the prev mentioned US BB classes is that their AA defence as designed was inferior to that of the Bismarck. Their only good aspect was their DP secondary armament. but as ive pointed out to someone previously (not sure if it was you). the DP guns shot down only a small proportion of aircraft compared to the lighter AA guns.
