I think the funniest part of the entire scene is the beginning 10 seconds, when Poot pretends as if he ain't slingin since he was 12 on the same corners. It's a total game like getting out of school, pretending you're sick so you can get out of class, pretend you're chilling on the corner instead of slinging. This was one of my favorite scenes from The Wire. It's says a lot about what The Wire's really about.

They're drug dealers and cops, good guys and bad guys (the job never dictated the morals of the character). however, when they kick back, they are driven by the same wants and needs. When they do this, outside of their working environment they become the same people. In fact they act almost like colleagues in this scene. telling us that we are all part of the same community whatever we do.
