  • I can't believe Tyrone Powers and her had a real relationship. She must had some sex appeal to turn the most handsome leading man next to Clark Gable on.

  • LOVE JUDY SO SO MUCH!!! LOVED This VERSION!!!

  • Garland is a force of nature. Thank you for blessing us! RIP

  • This songs originality goes back as early as the 1920s. I've seen the original verison of the song on a TV special (about great musicals of that era) but I don't think that the origional verison is as good as the other versions that came after. Out of all of them this one performed by Judy Garland to me is the best version. What amazes me is the fact that you can see all of the instruments being used to play this song.

  • finally. a great soloist who wasn't a soprano!

  • I agree with you!

  • God i love her!!

  • You're not the only one. :-)

  • thats a relief!

  • Judy is simply brilliant. She was the best entertainer ever gracing Earth. Garland 4EVER!! Just fantastic

  • she was so magical and adorable. And yes every song from Singing In the Rain was sung by Judy first. She sang Broadway Rhythm, Good Morning, even Make Em Laugh is a version of the Judy (and Gene Kelly) song Be A Clown.

  • judy garland sang like all the songs before anyone else. like i thought gene kelly sang this song first wow she's amazing :)

  • judy garland is amazing. <3

  • did this version come out before gene kelly's?

  • I guess so since it was made before Singin' in the Rain(1950) :)

  • MY FAVOURITE SONG FORM THIS IS THIS AND GREATDAY 4 THE IRISH!!

and Judys voice is as sweet as music!! even her speaking voice, is welll known as her singin!!

    LOVE JUDY!!!

    XXXXX

  • brilliant!:)

  • This is THE BEST version of this song, without doubt. THANKS for this video..so I have the chance to hear AND see Judy in all her prime. THANKS.!! Carlos from argentina

  • What a beautiful sounding voice, like something out of an orchestra. One winter I was sick with a slight fever and I kept having dreams that I heard an instrument being played over and over, musical notes that kept going up and down the scale. When I woke up I realized that my nieces and nephew were in the next room watching Wizard of Oz and the sound I was thinking was an instrument was Judy Garland's speaking voice. Honest.

  • That's amazing :)

  • omg! thank you so much for putting this on here! ive never seen this movie before; no matter how much i REALLY want to...and i just absolutely LOVE the opening! so cute and funny. love everything about this clip in general, actually. lol

is it true that Judy DIES in this movie???

just something i read...im REALLY curious, so someone plz tell me! PLZ!!

  • Your most welcome :) Yes unfortunately she does die in the film :(

It was her only on-screen death, ever.

  • my goodness.....thats what i read (about it being her only on-screen death).

    but......HOW???? HOW does she die???

i know im going to hell for saying this, but i think thats kinda funny how shes singing this and than she just......well....DIES. lol

    aww......i made myself sad...... :(

  • i've never heard this song sung so jazzy...awesome...thanks for the upload

  • Your Welcome!!!

  • Ha, I have this song on my "Singin' in the Rain" CD, and I always wondered if there was a video to it.

And, now, I REALLY thank you for uploading this!! =D

  • Your Most welcome! :)

  • WOW!!! Love this swing version - - and all those keys Judy goes through via such cool syncopation too!! TGJF: Thank God For Judy!!!

  • I have the number of Judy dancing on Laser Disc, but I don't know if I can download it to youtube.

  • Judy doin' it 'her way'. Great speacial material opening followed by one of the hottest multi key jumping, swing arrangents,...and then there's that VOICE!

Apologies to Gene Kelly and his " do-de-do-doo-doo-de, &c", but here we have the 'singers version' of this tune.Strangely enough, both of the " Singing in the Rain" numbers were conceived, or at least largely contributed to by Roger Edens.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH I love JUDY!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song! and also so true about the host

  • so cute~
