This car made roughly 800hp through a TH400. Car has since been tuned on E85 and swapped to a 6spd by the new owner.  It's a STOCK MOTOR car on a GT42.***

Ive seen GM 4L80E "truck" trannies used in supra drag cars. They are a lot more consistant on the track.

(I prefer manual trannies personally)

you can hear it shift to second at 00:6 and it changes from second to third from 0:36 - 0:38, yes the TH400 tranny shifts incredibly fast and smooth, that's why pro drag racers use it for drag racing, let alone the durability, some of the fastest supras are 3spd auto using the same transmission that was once used in cadillacs and GMs introduced in 1964, the TH400

The Turbo Hydromatics are fantastic transmissions. I've owned 2 different TH350s, one TH400, all of them perform fantastic, especially with a shift kit.

that's not lag, it's using a 3 spd tranny built by GM made for cadillacs and other cars, it's a TH400 tranny, it's only 3 spd and he was already into second or third gear, it was the tranny, not the turbo, the tranny ratio was too low for the engine to spin, once it got in trigger that's when it started roaring
