  • its more natural then the original

  • this rules!!

  • i loved this version

  • no way the original version is way betta ive been listenin to newton faulkner and learnin his songs for ages and this just doesnt sound right

  • where can i download this version of the song i have the one with the rest of the band the solo is way better tho

  • sounds great ;) good job, I love it :)

  • Good to see your replies involve the need to swear, the whole point is anyone is allowed to comment on these videos. Hmm did you used to bully the little kids at school?

  • OMG i wish i could play like Newton...he is so freakin awesome

  • Very mature, not even sure what your point was dude? Are people not allowed to have different points of view then?

  • You know YOU don't have to reply to him either, he has the right to give his opinion on the song and you shouldn't slate him for it, even if he didn't state it in the best place you could keep your opinion on him to yourself.

Mind you, I could've kept my opinion on this matter to myself as well, as I'm sure loads of lovely people already have, I guess that makes me a hypocrite.

    Oh well, awesome song :)

  • By the way I'm replying to the whole 2001jas and mcveytothedeath matter, not just randomly having a go at lthron, just so you all know.

  • alright fair enough point. i just dont like when people talk shit. by all means, give your opinions, but have the respect not to be plainly nasty to such an amazing artist. hes just a guy trying to make som money by doing something he loves. and if thats so wrong then people will have to deal with it.

but you make an interesting argument. =]

  • i cant exactly see it but on the 4th beat of percussion is he flicking the guitar or just hiting it with his second finger?

  • he plays with acrylic fingernails, like a lot of fingerstyle/percussive guitarists. So to answer, he's tapping the guitar body with his nail. He also uses "invisible scratch plates" a clear, thin covering where a scratch plate would normally go to protect the soft wood body of the guitar. :)

  • i find that knocking the body with the bony joint near the top of your fingers gets a simalar sound, for what its worth.

  • dat is fuckin brilliant

  • I love this version!

  • How the hell does he play the guitar while still keeping that drum? amazing.

  • if you practice it it actually becomes sort of second nature! you should give it a go! it's sooo hard at first but one day it'll just click... if you need help you can check out m version, i play it exactly like he does, but obviously i don't play or sing as AMAZINGLY as he does! all the best!

  • They made this video 'Eischeresque' with many Newtons (the painting w/ the multiple stairs in many dimensions)because Newton does 4 parts at the same time(bass strum, harpsichord melody, percussion, and vocals). Very deep meaning in these words for many people as well.

  • he plays it so awesome

  • dis dude seriously talented man !!

    good stuff

  • wow, that's really good!

  • i agree with LeePL

  • much better

  • Also, why is the other version so much darker than this one?? There are parts you miss because you can't really seme them properly...

  • also, why is the other version so much darker? There are parts I can't really see :S

  • Ah see, now the video concept makes so much more sense...I was thinking having the whole band on the track but not in the video didn't really work! As a film-maker I know the pain of when someone with power changes the brief in post-production...sympathies to the director!

Not saying that I prefer this version of the song though, just that when paired with the video the sense of isolation works so much better...

  • Did they not include the whole band in the video? Newton Faulkner on percussion, Newton Faulkner playing guitar and Newton Faulkner singing.

  • Well ok, if you want to put it that way, they should have had a load of Newtons on those instruments along with the ones playing guitar in the video...

The big instrumentation of the track does not fit in well in my opinion with the tone of the video. Imagine how good it would look when the drums kick in if a Newton was seen banging the hell out of them! When we go up onto the roof, the whole band of Newtons could be up there etc...

  • that would look shit, cheap and tacky.. ur talking out ur arse

  • What instruments. There's only one guitar.

  • there's a whole band on the album version

    there's only background synth here

  • someone gave you a thumb down because there's no synth, we know more about this song than you, and if I wasn't on my PS3 i'd thumb you back to neutral

  • "we know more about this song than you"

    what's that about? Right...

Assuming something that's not right at second thoughts doesn't make you stupid, does it?

It sounded like there was something aside from just guitar @ 2:53 for example.

Check the other Teardrop videoclip, there's drums and all in that one.

  • Regardless, there's only one right answer, and that wasn't it.
