our military made russia pack their bags and go home from cuba, with their tails tucked between their legs.we didn't fire a shot.the people of cuba paid the price because fidel decided to sleep with the our enemy.they turned their back on him.he remained dictator of a small island, which soon became impoverished, hated by his own people. we even retained control of a piece of that island.
Jeanne, Thank You for the comment and for Your Support of Our Troops. It's a shame we couldn't free Cuba, but WWIII was too high a cost. I was more afraid that day alongside the Ruskie Ship than I was in NAM 5yrs later, with 28 gun sites shooting at us. Best To You and Yours,
Master Cheif Goad,I have always been partial to the navy.i lived and worked in San Diego during part of Nam [late 60's].I met many great navy personel during that time, also made several friends.i can understand your fear. This could have been the beginning of WW3.Millions of Americans could have been killed,as well as many Cubans.Any wonder why Fidel was hated.
