this vid is not really that helpful... basically connecting the devices correctly does not give you instant internet access through the router... sometimes you really do need to configure the router for the internet connection.. if things always goes like what this vid is telling you... there is no need for technical support..

Great video & very helpful. My router had been disconnected for quite awhile since both of my daughters left in August. One of them is coming home for Christmas break and of course, we'll need to share the internet connection. I couldn't get it working for anything even though everything was connected correctly. The trick was disconnecting the power on the devices, which I hadn't thought of. Thanks! you rock!

Um. Actually you CAN go to the internet. It's called a DSL or cable modem. You can connect those directly to your computer and get to the internet to watch the video and get the instructions...yeah. Such uninformed negativity.

you will need software on your pc to connect to the router...Find who makes your router, what model s/n etc...and get the software from the manufacturer, download it and install on your PC, then set up the WEP or security code or password and make the connection. U need software..every device nowdays need software.

modem=modulation/demodulation

dsl/modem <-- a box from your ISP vendor to get internet signal from outside into your household. The router as its name implies, it will rout that signal to other laptops or computers via wireless or ethernet cable. However, if you only have one computer in the house u only need the DSL/modem.
