As an Indian, I would say I'm a big fan of Spielberg & have watched ALL his movies but this has to be the most DISAPPOINTING one even considering that Indiana Jones is just another pop-corn type movie. Spielberg should have used some imaginary name for this country & not 'India', a country that has given to the world, Nobel-prize winning Physicists even in the 1930s...long before Spielberg made this stereotyped SHIT. Where the f*ck do all those things depicted in this shit occur in India??!! WTF
you have to take the lows with the highs, man. I don't think anyone in the West came out of the movie thinking Indians are a bunch of human sacrificing devils. Take it for what it is; a rousing adventure story that draws from the rich bedrock of the Hindu Mythology.
@777amol Oh lighten up. I'm English and the amount of times I see Brits portrayed as fucking morons or scum in films (particularly as bad guys in Hollywood flicks) and I don't give a shit and whine on and on about that. It's just a film; Indiana Jones is a great action flick. The protagonist himself comes across as a bit of a bumbling action hero, too. I guess that's prejudiced against archaeologists, too. Jesus fucking christ.
thought this one was way more cornball than Crystal Skull. Vodoo dolls and hearts ripped out of bodies and guy goes on living--cornball dialog. Short-round as aggravating as Jar jar was in star wars. With all this, why is it so hard to take aliens in Crystal Skull? Maybe Speilberg will redeem himself with a new Indiana Jones as good as the original or as good as Last Crusade.
almost as good as Raiders. Beats Crystal Skull and Last Crusade. Temple of Doom generates serious suspense and peril, Last Crusade meanwhile is fatuous and uninvolving, and Skull is borderline cornball and can't be taken seriously on any level.
I always loved Indiana Jones movies - entertainment to watch. OK, I was disappointing (a little bit) with 2 things - Marion (Karen Allen) was absent here and that Chinese kid looked more clever/brave than Indiana. They overtried with this one.
Anyway it was classic of all Adventure movies. Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw and Jonathan Ke Quan were brilliant.
My favorate part was the final battle when the rest of the solders including the Mola Ram fell into the water with the hungry alligators.
