  • id be the guy in the front yelling HOORAH MARINES or COME ON HUNS WANNA LIVE FOREVER?!

  • This should be expanded to a full dramatic film with "Saving Private Ryan" quality.

  • the fight between the USMC and USA for distinction in the field continued up into desert storm.

The korean war talked about the yellow legs of the 1st MarDiv, and desert storm era had the black boot legend.

Chesty Puller also bragged about what the japs were saying about his grunts on Guadalcanal in 1942.

In recent history it was 3/5 "the butchers of Fallujah"

Elite units throughout history all maintain distinct lore and mysticism that isnt just one isolated claim for the USMC alone.

  • 3/5 get some!

  • @Dogmeat1950, The Marine Corp has never had the EGA on their Helmets, also prior to 1950 the Marines wore the Unit Patches on their uniforms

  • @Shinigamiusmc yeah actually the Marine Corps does have the EGA on their helmets now its just on their helmet covers and during WW2 and korea along with vietnam we did not have them on the helmets just uniforms

  • @VredesStal, The US entered WW1 in 1917, plus many American's were fighting prior to that with the French and the British

  • @Shinigamiusmc Actually , most joined the Canadian Reserve's , which were called to France to assist the British army fighting there . Just a minor correction .

  • Its like these fucking Europeans just flock to American military channels to bash Americans with lies and revised history. Fuck all you envious Europeans.

  • @HaggenPagan26 Hey whoa I wouldn't speak for all Europeans when I say that. I know some Englishmen and they don't hate America, or the American military.

  • i lost my focus on the video when i saw me a nice female ass at 1 :32. now thats an ass !!. i wonder how you say "devil ass " in german

  • @legacyoferic Teufelarsch ahaha!

  • @legacyoferic teufel arsch

  • germany never lost ww1 there was an armistice not surrender.the german army never wanted to end the fighting hitler knew this and was widley supported by the army who felt betrayed by the political powers of imperial germany.listen to hitlers speeches he condems jewery for the capitulation .

  • I SWEAR, THE MAKING OF SPECIAL EFFECTS LOOKS SO FUN!!!!!!

  • @kaleyley0829 USING ALL CAPS I SEE

  • Suffering staggering losses, they required over two hundred ambulances to carry the wounded. Two days later, Belleau Wood was subjected to a fourteen hour bombardment by French artillery. Attacking in the wake of the artillery, US forces were finally able to completely clear the forest. On June 26, after defeating some early morning German counterattacks, Major Maurice Shearer was finally able to send the signal, "Woods now entirely -US Marine Corps."

  • Actually to all of you saying that the "Devil Dog Story" as you call is bullshit, I'm sorry to say that you are wrong. I am in the US Marine Corps ROTC and I've studied so much history it's not even funny... The Germans actually DID indeed give the marines the name Devil Dogs. They called the marines "tuefel hunden" which in English means actually "dogs from hell" (don't hold me to the exact translation). But anyways, the name Devil Dogs is directly derrived from that. Oorah!! -Cpl Brian Young

  • @brianty16 Sorry but you're wrong. The Germans did not call the marines tuefel hunden or anything like it. Firstly the marines were not the first soldiers the Germans fought, very far from it, and they did not fight with anymore determination, aggression, spirit or tenacity than any others from other countries like France, Britain, Canada or Australia. Secondly, the first time US marines were called devil dogs was in a US newspaper months before the Belleau Wood battle took place.

  • @brianty16 Cpl Young, its pointless to argue on the internet, most of this people are 12 year old boys who's entire knowledge/experience is from video games. Also if you have not noticed the upcoming generations of young Americans are ignorant and believe anything they read on the internet from some site they like. Westbro Church for example, or where people protest a Soldiers funeral that just died to protect their freedom of speech. -MIDN 1/C, USN, Marine Option

  • aww man i wish i could do ww1 reenating for the marines

  • no shit they called em the devil dogs fuck these guys could fight

  • @Litterboxer529 I read that the devil dog story is full of shit.

  • @wafflecushioned howso

  • @Litterboxer529 Because the Germans denied and still deny to this day giving them that nickname. It was an American correspondent that came up with devil dogs. Add that to the fact that the U.S. Army also fought in this battle with a larger force than the Marines. How could the Germans distinguish the Marines from the Army in the heat of battle. There was a huge rivalry between the Army and Marines back then and this story was propaganda both to make them look better and to recruit more people.

  • @wafflecushioned Bull shit. there has always been a Rivalry between the Army and the Marines also you can tell the USMC and the Army apart. it's not that hard. on the front of a Marine helment even to this day, there is a Eagle,Globe, and Anchor. is one fine example.

Either way, the USMC showed the Germans they were fighting Marines and not no reg army.

  • @Dogmeat1950 But it was the Army that eventually took Belleau Wood while the Marines went off to fight elsewhere. And their helmets looked identical back then, not like now. Very hard to distinguish back then especially in the heat of battle.

  • @wafflecushioned dude. the Germans knew what a Marine looked like and knew they where not U.S Army. the first thing that gave it away and amazed the Germans was the distance the Marines were picking them off. firing at 500m away and knocking down Germans.

heat of battle? the Germans knew that Marines where in the area well before the battle broke out.. also Army wears unit Patches, the U.S Marines don't.

also Marine rank is colored different from the Army.

  • Comment removed

  • @wafflecushioned also it was Pershing that gave the Marines most the credit. Pershing was a Army General.

  • @Dogmeat1950 Your right he did give them credit. However that isn't the issue here. The germans denied ans still deny to this day every referring to the Marines as devil dogs. No where in their records did it even so much as hint at the fact. An American correspondent came up with the name. Don't get me wrong, i'm all for America, but I know that the U.S. military can be a little overzealous at times. Every country uses propaganda and the United States isn't an exception.

  • @wafflecushioned well the U.S Marines do have several nick Names

  • @wafflecushioned

germans havent denied the claim ever, they dont even know it fucking exists. All that is known that was said of the Marines was that they were exceptional marksmen and storm trooper quality.

This battle is exactly why the USMC now fights to keep its uniform and colors distinct from the army's.

A couple months ago army generals were considering switching to MARPAT which was heavily contested once again.

  • FIGHTING FIFTH!

  • This. Is. So. Cool. Can't wait to visit the museum once they have the WWI section done...

    SEMPER FI!

  • US MARINE CORP :)

  • SCREW this battle..i have to write a freakin 15 page essay about it in a week..

  • I think it's pretty cool that the actors are real marines.

  • 1:31 nice ass!

  • @ririckyrickyracoon03

No kidding! If she walked across that field the Marines and the Germans would have stopped ,gathered and stared. Anyway this whole Reanactment seems pretty bad ass hope theres a video of it finished on youtube sometime.

  • no kidding :0
