It's harmless dye, just like putting a legband on the pigeon, for easier identification. Sometimes kept-pigeons get lost or occasionally stop over for a time with pigeons from other flocks, including feral pigeons, before continuing back to it's own cote.

Listen to that cuckoo in the background - the pigeon has been coloured with vegetable dye apparently which is harmless to him appart from making him feel like a prat. lol.  see the one in Barcelona on my site.

i keep pigeons and that colour is not natural somebody must have caught this bird and done this!!lol

Pica it's the name give to contests where

the breeders paint their Male pigeons in order to know their birds amongs other painted pigeons.
