Ok, fuck it, all of this guitar talk has got me angry. People don't understand how brutal a Telecaster can sound. I'm starting a doom band with a Telecaster dropped to A or something. Watch out, bitches.
In their interview with Decibel about making Remission I thought it said something about a couple of the members playing with them. I could be wrong though. I know they didn't play on any HoF albums though.

All of their songs sound the fucking same, it makes me want to kill myself, listen to some good metal people, like LOG or COB or SOMTHING OTHER THAN THIS.
I ain't at all into new stuff! That is except this band. Love'em, great old school sound. I got to tell ya I thought that this was an actual video by the band! Great work!
lol true, but u can change sound of any guitar w/ pick-up changes lol... cuz i have a les w/ dave mustaine active live wires, and they sound better than my esp w/ emg's i think
Even though i love them, i've considered killing my whole family while listening to the last minute and half of this song.

A couple of the guys in Mastodon used to be in High on Fire, which is probably why they're similar sounding.
BagOfGlass 3 years ago
I don't think any of the Mastodon guys were ever in High on Fire but they met each other at a High on Fire show, probably what you're thinking of

Lamb of God and Children of Bodom aren't better than High on Fire. At all. Ever.
PrimevalScum 3 years ago 7
children of bodom may have better guitars, but vocals? fuck no, drums? fuck no, and certainly not bass

phill00000001 4 years ago 2

metalheadsam989 4 years ago
the drummer for mastodon has a tiny ass set
jimmybdot 4 years ago 2
This band was an influence, in the drummer from Mastodon's decision, to have a small set

are you kidding? Kiss, the melvins, tool, hatebreed, lamb of god, opeth, clutch, etc. not to mention High on Fire!
slimslum 4 years ago
Clutch is not heavy metal and Lamb of God-guitarists use ESP's.
But yeah, I don't know why they aren't common. My LP works well.

I think those were actors playing the instruments. Matt plays Gibson Les Paul.
linus7106 5 years ago
Not bad work. The shots of instruments are distracting (I can't imagine Matt Pike playing a Tele!) but the bloodied grass & foliage works very well.
