one of the best squad weapons. don't why the m249 is preferred over this when the m249 shoots such small rounds. and they bitch about lack of .30 cal support for current squads, "oh geez in world war 2 they had the b.a.r., now it's just the saw and m16 they jam and jam", well blame the army for not offering more m60 support. it's not going to be great for situations where you need to pull a pistol and shoot fast. but in any situation where you have 5 seconds you can set it up and just rip away.

@sixDUMBbeaners It was the standard issue machine gun during the Vietnam War. Besides, the Marines always get the most outdated weaponry, equipment, supplies, etc. Still, I'd rather carry this nowadays than any other machine gun, including the M249!

@cockofdoody4ftw Uh its replacing the 249 slowly, the 249 was the SAW so basically when we needed the extra rate of fire we used it now with the IAR its a bit easier to be part of the squad and lay down Suppression fire when needed, essentially when we use an IAR he can change out mags with the rest of the squad and use the same ammo, he can use it as a standard Rifle and when we need to lay down some heavy fire he just switches to Full Auto and goes to town.
