You guys keep talikng about classic but he is singing ghazal with more aloboe, He is good great talent but he has to decide what he wants to do clasic or ghazal. To be honest sometimes I feel he gets of tune or maybe it isn't with in the raga tone scale but not shure as he is really good.

Very nicely presented. A. Wali jaan is an obviously talented singer. However, I think his voice is more suited to the classical khiyal genre than the lighter popular ghazal style. I don't feel the same emotional connection when he is singing ghazals as when he presents a beautiful alaap and raag in a khiyal.
Classical Music is a Bitch to be honest, though it has a selected Audience but the listeners are very critical and you cant get away with even one mistake, no wonder people give their whole life to this genre of music. though wali tries to act humble and all but i can see it in his eyes and the way he is projecting himself on the website, he thinks he is an Ustad. if we stops thinking that way and keep learning from the Guru, he will go a long way
Wali is talented, i think little details, soul and improvement will come with age and riyaz, not only that but i think he should continue his music education with the Ustad which i know for a fact that he is not as he is now in Afghanistan and Ustad Fateh Ali Khan is in Pakistan.

Comparing classical music with pop music is like comparing oranges and apples. I think Valy is very successful in his own style. All singers regardless of their style have short comings. See the next post.
#1. at around 1:21 he sings shudha ma but says Pa, so his swar is off at times. #2. in his other clips, he uses the wrong techniques to render taans. A. he closes his soft pallet, B. he uses his throat, C. he uses the vowel e in a falsetto voice. True taans come from the chest in pure aakar form not (eekar) #3. His range is also very limited. I have never heard him sing ghandar in taar saptac in pure head voice or Puncham in mandara saptac.
So if you think how good he is relative to his line of work, he would actually rate a lot lower than Valy. Even though Valy is not a classical singer, he is very capable in expressing his feeling through his music. Sorry to say, but Wali Fateh Ali is way too mechanical and has no creativity of expression. If you have any doubts about my comments, experiment for yourself. Have a 3 year old who has no music exposure old listen to both artists, and see which artists is liked more.
i dont think so that you have much experience in this field ,,cause he is classic singer ,,i was in his concert in india and in his concert was more than 100000 audience and most of indien classic singers ware there too ,,at the end they stand for him ,,,,now you have estimate his talent ok ,,,,,,,,,,,,
