  • did you animate? wow. some people try unsuccessfully for years to animate a horse's galloping movements

  • this is VERY close to Assyrian (aramaic) a couple examples...Lion for you is Arieh? for us its Arya, horse is soos for you? for us its Soosya

  • Wow, they must REALLY not want people to know what Jellyfish is in Hebrew...

  • @maddieemcee What do you mean? The word for Jellyfish is "Meduza". It's in this video.

  • @ronimation I was talking about how, in comparison to all the other slides, the one for Jellyfish was on screen for a really quick period of time. I thought it was odd.

  • @ronimation She means because they only show it for a split second

  • @ronimation no, he/she didn't meant to say that. he/she tried to say that the jellyfish part it's to fast.

  • @ronimation: Because the viewing time for the jellyfish was so short compared to the others. I believe maddieemcee was joking. :)

  • אני מניחה שאין לכם מושג מה אני אומרת... (חוץ מהישראלים למיניהם)

hodu its india but turkey is tarnegol hodu. dont ask me why...

eize diun meaniem al tarnegolei hodu XD

  • I thought Dog was Caleb?

  • @sunsetsunflower

nah Caleb is probably the american accent, Kelev is the right one.

  • im not very good at hebrew. what is that letter that looks like vav, it always seems to be making a vowel sound? for example in the word donkey, the third letter from the left

  • @sunsetsunflower That letter is vav. Vav makes the "Oh" sound in Hebrew as well as the "v" sound. So in this word, it's providing the "O" in "Chamor".

  • @ronimation oh thanks that makes so much more sense!

  • אני מניח שאתם לא מבינים מה שאני אומר

  • @NEMERITEANDSHUNI תניח שוב! ;D

  • Wait, hold on. How am I supposed to learn the alephbet and vocabulary words to match if all the letters are rearranged to match the English alphabet?

  • its tarnegol hodu and hatul

    im from israel ...

  • as someone who speaks hebrew all the day i can tell you that ita tarnegol hodu but

everyone says hodu its a shortcut

if i have some mistakes its because im from israel...

  • as someone who speaks hebrew all the day i can tell you that ita tarnegol hodu but

  • meanien meod!

  • @iehuda777 very interesting

  • And how is 'water'?

  • @GingleGangle1 The word for water is Mayim.

  • @GingleGangle1 or in large quantitys i.e. a sea water is hayom

  • Liviatan?... like Leviathan?... the giant sea monster in the book of Job?

  • @KaiHiwatariStudios1 exactly.

  • the french word for cat is not chat its chen

  • @furn3000 the french word for cat is "chat". You gotta pronounce it "sha". I'm french...

  • @furn3000 chat is cat. chen is a bad spelling for chien, which is dog.{google translate is a wonderful thing}

  • I'm going to do something similar to this :)

  • The French word for cat is chat.

Thank you for explaining about the whale issue. I guess it would stand to reason that modern Hebrew would be different than Biblical Hebrew, just as modern Greek is different than the classical variety.

    Thanx again for the info.

  • Very cute & informative for a gentile like myself.

I found it interesting that the Hebrew word for cat is so close to the French. Did the French get the word directly from the Hebrew?

Also, I always thought there was some controversy over what animal the Leviathan in the book of Job refered to. No mystery at all, apparently

  • What is the French word for cat? As for the word for Whale, this is modern Hebrew. The meaning of Leviathan in biblical Hebrew may very well be something other that whale. So the mystery is alive and well.

  • @ronimation : Jellyfish is exact for romanian ...... meduza. LOL

  • @ronimation interestingly I think that the book of Job is not actually written in hebrew originally but rather elamite, an obscure language isolate from the Persian area. Please do correct me if Im wrong cos Im no authority

  • @TheJunglesound- I'm no authority on that either but that's interesting. I'll look in to it. If you find out anything, let me know.

  • isnt Hodu India?

a turkey should be Tarnegol Hodu I think..

  • Yes that's correct. Tarnagol Hodu is the proper way to say it. It literally means "Indian Chicken". However, the slang way to say it is just 'Hodu" and I needed an animal that began with the letter "Hey". I racked my brain but that was all I could think of.

  • oh, haha :D

  • Would you add the vowel points for those of us still learning?

  • I would but I think what I'll do instead is just make a whole new video- or a series of them- with vowels and sound. I first made this as an experiment. I wasn't expecting to get the number of views it's gotten. There seems to be a demand for more so I will make them.

  • um you might want to check the audio

  • Unfortunately there isn't any.

  • oh well thats okay its still a nice video

  • Thanks. If I knew of a way to add sound after it's already been put up- I would do it. I made this video a few years ago when I was first learning flash. Maybe I'll just do another one since this one has so many views- obviously there's an interest for more.

  • yeah you should that would be very cool and fun lol and do you really make these videos?

  • Yes I really made them.

  • To all racists anti-semites and other "people" who leave offensive comments on this video- Save us both the trouble and Don't even bother! I'm just going to remove your stupid comment before anyone gets to see it and you'll just have to go home and cry to your mommies like the cowards you are. Now move along and do something useful with your life- or don't and kill yourself. Either way we all win!
