  • Great stuff. Specially the end. God bless you and your family forever...

  • It is very important to establish a good athletic stance, within the stance one needs to keep the head centered & not tilted between the shoulders, hips & feet which in turn establishes good body posture,The head is the culprit that forces the weight to prematurely shift out over the front foot, "WHERE THE HEAD GOES SO GOES THE BODY," Mark has many good things to say, our philosophy's are very close to being the same.

  • Great video and obviously a great man.

  • also sorry everbody for that comment it had nothing to do with the video but i wouldnt mind playing for this coach he knows so much about hitting

  • Mark Johnson is one of the most highly respected hitting coaches on this planet and has probably forgotten more about hitting than most of the current hitting instructors.

  • Coaches like this take credit for an already talented team. They throw jargon at ya during BP and take credit for you hitting the ball while you have not done nothing to hit the ball. Wanna hit every ball, key points are to power the swing with the rotating upper body in an upward swing to match the plane of the ball. Once you can do that, find a way to pre-load the body to reproduce that same swing faster and harder.

  • i have been an athlete for a long time, and the moment you say coaches are useless is the moment you stop progressing as an athlete. coaches can see things you can't see as a player.

  • If the baseball travels in a downward slope from the mound to the plate, all this 'stacking' bullshit will produce a top to bottom swing, resulting in WEAK line drives that 'feel' powerful but are VERY playable or they produce the pop ups. Actually what he says not to do (slightly bent and over the plate) is exactly what to do. Your upper body than rotates in a upward angle to the ball, allowing to stay in the path of the baseball in two planes.

  • good techniques.

but with the whole god thing....wow!

it's ridiculous, go doesn't control your life.

and if you accept that you don't control your life, whats the point on living. your living through someone else.

    fuckin religion. (no offence)

  • @ftremblett He's giving the tips, you are free to turn it off. Why does it matter what message he wants to give? We have the option to turn it off. It's ignorant to make judgements based on another's belief. Regardless of what it is, if it's not illegal or hurting someone, just ignore it.

  • mark johnson passed away shortly after this video ended lol jp good video

  • MJ is alive and well! Led his Sam Houston Bearkats to 3rd conference tournament title in a row.

  • lol im glad to hear he made it, he looked out breath at the end of this i was pretty concerned lol

  • thanks alot man that really helped alot! especially the testimony! in a sophomore in high school and tryin to live for God and in a huge, huge slump and ive been praying about it constantly and that really did help..if everyone just knew to go to God for everything things would be so much better but this season has been very stressful and im not so sure im playin for much longer but that really helped alot

  • Fantastic Video and Fantastic Testimony!!! Thank you.

  • Very good demo. One person commented about coil. He is correct but understand that every coach, player, insturctor will do something a little different but the basic mechanics never change. God did not make everyone the same or equal so each of us have to do something a little different to accomplish the same task. One thing i believe he did leave out and most people do is to inforce confidence, this is very important cause if you don't believe you can hit then you won't. Believe in yourself.

  • That really hepld alot... thx im also a christian well a catholic christian

  • took some good notes from this, but dont listen to everything, its not all right. for example he doesnt encourage coil with the bat, which most pros do because it creates whip, faster bat speed which equals power. power is strength and bat speed.

  • Thank You

  • Yes that was very good cause I am also a player and a Christian, so i want to thank you for making that video

  • Perfect for me Im an All Star baseball player and A christian
