I am still growing in a religious family, my mother is as religious as religious can get,she prays everyday and always has the channel on TBN every day, yet she does not know her own son is atheist. I mean why would i tell her, right now i believe she needs this faith that she has to survive, some people do even though is illogical. Either way i will wait until i move out and than i break the big news even though i have to sit in a church were i can question all that is being said.

@zuokula2 to me its undeniable that the God of the Bible is the true God. Jesus and his deciples along with others before Jesus (Abraham, and so on) arent real just because the Bible says they are. the Bible isnt the only source that says that Jesus was real. The Bible even names places and rulers during various times of History that existed at the same time as Jesus and others.

@masterxgt Hi :) umm, first off I just want to let you know I was a die-hard Christian a few months ago and I just knew I was right...first I started asking myself the question "what if?" and my questions kept getting deeper and I looked into everything more and more, including the Bible. I begged God to give me any kind of sign at all that I would recognize his presence by, and nothing came. I started studying evolution and here I am, I am Atheist. I totally agree with him on the beauty part. Beauty is so much better when it is mysterious. When you realized a magic being poofed everything into existence, designing things the way he wanted them to be makes it boring, like a working at a factory. But that evolution created us through billions of years of natural selection, that there was probably no specific outcome in mind it just happened that way is beautiful.

What if you are wrong about God? Faith is a big part of believing in God. I agree that religion is usually just a big game that people play with each-other because they are still trying to earn their way into heaven, but you can't earn your way into heaven. When I was young I didn't believe in God, but saw it has a harmless lie, like Santa. All major religions are where they are because there is some degree of evidence.
From the video you told me too watch I see no evidence for you theory. But bare in mind, there is no PROOF for any relgion, only evidence. Just to play devils advocate. People often forget or ignore that there are inconsistencies in evolution that should be looked at. Like the fact that if natural selection is correct, then it would be logical to say that human beings shouldnt exist. If our hair loss and lack of hunting mechanisms was a form of mutation, then we should have died off soon after the mutation occurred.

He said that our first main concern is survival, and then the only other concern, after we've accompished survival, is Boredom. It is a very simple, and authentic, way to look at life. And yeah, an atheists attempt at curing spiritual boredom simply with things and theories that are Practical is boring in itself haha.

EXPLAINING HOW AN AIRPLANE WORKS doesn't mean no one made the airplane. Explaining how life and the universe work don’t mean there was no Maker behind them. Natural laws explain how the order in the universe works, but mere undirected natural laws can't explain the origin of that order. Once you have a complete and living cell, the genetic code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell originate when no directing code or mechanisms existed in nature?
WHAT IS SCIENCE? Science is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by macro-evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith science supports. Natural laws explain how an airplane or a cell works, but undirected natural laws cannot bring about either. Once there's a complete cell, the code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell originate when there was no directing code.
SCIENTISTS HAVE NEVER CREATED LIFE. And, even if they do it won't be by chance but by intelligent design. By genetically engineering already existing forms of life, scientists have produced new forms of life, but they did not produce these new life forms from non-living matter. Even in synthetic life, scientists design and build DNA from scratch, through intelligent design, and then insert their man-made DNA into an already living cell. THE ODDS of the sequence of molecules in a cell coming together by chance are similar to the odds of magnetic letters randomly bonding together in a sequence to form all the words and sentences in a dictionary. Without the right sequence, a cell's molecules won't work. Amino acids can come by chance but not proteins. Without DNA there can be no proteins and vice versa. Gradually won't do. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures. I am still growing in a religious family, my mother is as religious as religious can get,she prays everyday and always has the channel on TBN every day, yet she does not know her own son is atheist. I mean why would i tell her, right now i believe she needs this faith that she has to survive, some people do even though is illogical. Jesus and his deciples along with others before Jesus (Abraham, and so on) arent real just because the Bible says they are. the Bible isnt the only source that says that Jesus was real. @masterxgt That's a common thought, and (Looking at modern art, I can see there being no artist, haha) it's just a slight misconception of how we look at it.
The thing about randomness is that's it's not really there. A coin flipped depends on the physics behind it, and so, the natural laws are what are responsible for movement and proteins.
We view things as beautiful because we grew up here, it's all just protons, electrons and neutrons, there's no real difference between a rock and a painting

I totally agree with him on the beauty part. Beauty is so much better when it is mysterious. When you realized a magic being poofed everything into existence, designing things the way he wanted them to be makes it boring, like a working at a factory. But that evolution created us through billions of years of natural selection, that there was probably no specific outcome in mind it just happened that way is beautiful.

Nothing matters but the truth, so supporting an equilibrated life style without compromises or meaningless beliefs can be rewarding. I have no problem with people believing in a God, but I do have a problem in the way most religious people go about worshipping. Jesus may well have been a real person, but that doesn't make the bible fact. Just to play devils advocate. People often forget or ignore that there are inconsistencies in evolution that should be looked at. Like the fact that if natural selection is correct, then it would be logical to say that human beings shouldnt exist. If our hair loss and lack of hunting mechanisms was a form of mutation, then we should have died off soon after the mutation occurred.

I think you can learn a little something from all religions and I think that because I believe everyone is just as capable as I am. I like to think I'm capable of great things and so is everyone else. Even though from my perspective some things seem stupid and not thought out, from their perspective it's deeper. If it wasn't, I doubt they would believe it to begin with...

A couple of Months ago I saw a child got hit by a car it was pretty gruesome ,and all the people did was just stand there ignoring the poor kid. I ran as fast as I could to help the poor kid, called my dad and we rushed him to the hospital. So yeah, God is "kind" alright pffft...

@SpardaDVLKing3 Yes we can freely choose death or life. If we're dumb enough to reap death into the soil (the earth) then we're gonna reap what we've sown. It's a very simple and logical concept even farmers understand this good seed good soil=good harvest, bad seed bad soil=bad harvest concept and can't shake their fists at GOD because the soill didn't produce a harvest because THEY were dumb enough to put bad seed in the soil. Very easy to understand. We do the same in everyday life.

If you want to follow an imaginary evil God and then say that's good, go ahead. It's highly illogical, but humans are very good at being stupid. If there is any blame to be cast for anyone believing these silly and often cruel stories, it would our parents and ancestors for continuing to shove it down our throats.

Please don't talk about free will, It's nothing to do with religion, its just an illusion from our genetics, both atheists and religious people are wrong to think we have free will. Genetic, environmental and chemical influences are all natural limitations on our will, and indeed rightly so, if we didn't have them we wouldn't be here, people would have no conscience with free will and would have no inclinations of self preservation. We would be "free" of any innate desires and ambitions.

A healthy follower of a religion has a great deal more modesty in them, and patience too! That's the most important part. People that believe in an afterlife probably don't feel the depth of desperation that an Atheist does. "Shit, there's no God, I'm only here by accident for this life only, fuck! What do I do! He said that our first main concern is survival, and then the only other concern, after we've accompished survival, is Boredom. It is a very simple, and authentic, way to look at life. You have to keep alive, and then once you do, you have to keep occupied, somehow. And yeah, an atheists attempt at curing spiritual boredom simply with things and theories that are Practical is boring in itself haha.

God is the ability to create personal virtues/values in the absence of a belief in God. God is that strange feeling we all have inside of unexplainable nostalgia, the foggy memories of the real experiences we've never lived through in this life. God is the abilty to dream. EXPLAINING HOW AN AIRPLANE WORKS doesn't mean no one made the airplane. Explaining how life and the universe work don’t mean there was no Maker behind them. Natural laws explain how the order in the universe works, but mere undirected natural laws can't explain the origin of that order. Once you have a complete and living cell, the genetic code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell originate when no directing code or mechanisms existed in nature?

WHAT IS SCIENCE? Science is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by macro-evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith science supports. Natural laws explain how an airplane or a cell works, but undirected natural laws cannot bring about either. Once there's a complete cell, the code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell originate when there was no directing code.

By genetically engineering already existing forms of life, scientists have produced new forms of life, but they did not produce these new life forms from non-living matter. THE ODDS of the sequence of molecules in a cell coming together by chance are similar to the odds of magnetic letters randomly bonding together in a sequence to form all the words and sentences in a dictionary. Without the right sequence, a cell's molecules won't work. Amino acids can come by chance but not proteins. Without DNA there can be no proteins and vice versa. Gradually won't do. NATURAL SELECTION DOESN'T PRODUCE ANYTHING. It can only "select" from what is produced that has survival value. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. Natural selection is a figure of speech. The term itself is a tautology. Natural selection only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before. IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures.
