War is not illegal nor reasons are needed to wage war: Belligerents do have to adhere to Laws of Armed Conflict.
General calling the other side "devil's spin" is what if not spin itself.
The officer corpus can think what one wants but when words like 'terrorism" and "devil's spin" are employed it denotes a propagated effort of unprofessionalism.
Violations of LOAC are War Crimes.
When the use of PMC's in Iraq are a War Crimes in itself, the strategy is to propagate spin.
vistavision...I dont feel like playing with you, since I have before. You may not remember me, but I dont plan on wasting weeks running over familiar ground. Since the Taliban dont wear uniforms, they arent legal combatants, so LOAC dont apply to them. Hence the legal problems surrounding their detention. Now that the FBI is taking over(bad idea), they will be Mirandizing captured prisoners. The RedCross workers are telling them to "LawyerUp"...Obama Doctrine in conflict with Campaign Rhetoric.
As I said, Im not going to have a discussion with you. The UN is your god, and we have fundamental issues that we will never agree on, so dont bother.
"Oops" means nothing to me...You and your comments and responses mean as little to me as mine do to you. Im agreeing to disagree with you, the Hague, the UN, and every other law that the Taliban, and Saddam wiped their asses with, laughing as we tried to follow. When T-ban targets schoolchildren for extermination, the LOAC go out the window.
The UN is the result of greatest generation set out to build a world where the value-set called the Rule of Law could govern relations among nation-states.
You do not like it: Well then man up and muster others who who like to see it changed.
There is only one way of a latreral new global leadership through simualtaneous acquiistion of respective governments simulataneoulsy:
1Elections; 2 Or World War.
In war, causualties are accepted and not only inflicted.
We have idiots in America...And wideawake123 is clearly one of them!
They think America should do anything they want despite our values and our Constitution. They want to fight the lazy man's war and everyone knows a lazy man never wins a war.
We must follow all US and International Laws if we, the US, want to set the bar for everyone else to meet.
It's insane. We can't keep making it so easy for our enemies. Back in WWII enemy combatants with no uniform or wearing our uniform which impersonated a U.S. soldier would get you executed. Thanks Libs.
Looks like you are getting yet another lesson in subjects you simply do not have the education or know how to participate in...One would have thought the embarrassment of such humiliation would have caused you to tone down the redneck rhetoric...I guess not!
Yes I do...It doesn't change the fact that So much of the world media is slanted that you have a better chance figuring out what's going on looking at raw footage than listening to the reporters. Case in point: Lebanon-Israeli war. AP and Reuters were posting posed and photoshopped pictures by Pali-Arab stringers as genuine. It took bloggers to out them. The media is telling you what They want you to know...or believe.

Regardless of what the US armed forces reports, Reuters AP and the rest will always take the side of "freedom fighters".

Agree with you on the position of Reuters AP

wideawake,
1 LOAC is what ONE complies with to be a lawful belligerent
2 HAGUE: persons who take up arms to resist an invasion are lawful belligerents"
3 LOAC Geneva: War Crimes Tribunals-held in territory where it violation is alleged
3.1 Oops- Iraq/Aghanistan allegations
4 USA could not establish War Crimes Tribunal in Iraq: its use of PMC's contravene LOAC Geneva 77Protocols
4.1 Why Saddam was not tried in Coalition War Crimes Tribunal
5 Campaign rhetoric is NOT law

wideawake123,
Then why click the reply?
My God is God Almighty. Rule of International Law and USA Law of the Land- US Constitution I honor.
Your premise is" We are not going to adhere to LOAC but the opposition must adhere it;
We shall apply it by NOT applying it of killing them or incarcerating them without jurisprudence.
What you advocate is DESPOTISM:
People like can't tell the difference between your own ass and face and think that trampling US Constituton is honoring it
vistavision2 2 years ago
US Consitution has International Treaty obligations
UN Global project: Legacy of US President Roosevelt & UK PM Churchill
Your so ignorant that you think that contraventing the International Rule of Law is how it is re-affrirmed
Then you whine when others do not adhere it: At least be man enough to accept the consquences that preaching chaos results in chaos
Only FOOLS destroy their own International Law house of governance: It US Consitution is tied to for same reason
