Well, apparently these people didn't see Hunchback of Notre Dame from a kid's point of view. I was only 3 when this movie came out, and besides Winnie the Pooh, this was my favorite movie growing up.
I think that "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was more geared for both kids [albeit a little older than 5] and adults. (as a side note, that chick needs 2 take some Latin) I saw this when I was 8, and I loved it, and still do. And "The Neverending Story", that's only for the perverted mind.

I could see Neverending Story being appropriate only for older kids, but not because of Falcor. Rather, because of that horrible creepy wolf and the horse dying in the muck. If your child is young or sensitive some aspects of this movie will surely give them nightmares... I certainly agree with the others. I'm a Disney fanatic and I thought Hunchback definitely should have been PG-13 (even without everyone dying in the end like in the book). It was filled with intense themes/ scenes. So was UP!
I thought when they had The Neverending Story they would say it was because his horse get pulled to the bottom of a swamp while he screams and cries out of sadness. But I guess a the luck dragon is really creepy because it acts like a dog when its ear gets scratched.

But honestly, when I was a kid, I had no idea that there was anything sexual in that movie. I just enjoyed it. When I grew up and watched it again, my jaw dropped at how sexual it was. I now laugh about it. That movie rocks.
Labyrinth scared me as a child. Not sure why. It was creepy. Although I can't say too much now, since I love that movie. xD

The Hunchback should never have been made into a children's movie. It was never meant to be a children's story. It's dark, cruel, tragic, and grotesque to begin with. But, then Disney is known for making Girmm's dark stories into children's movies, so why not Victor Hugo as well. What's next, Disney does Edgar Allen Poe?

I think that "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was more geared for both kids [albeit a little older than 5] and adults. (as a side note, that chick needs 2 take some Latin) I saw this when I was 8, and I loved it, and still do. And "The Neverending Story", that's only for the perverted mind.

I could see Neverending Story being appropriate only for older kids, but not because of Falcor. Rather, because of that horrible creepy wolf and the horse dying in the muck. If your child is young or sensitive some aspects of this movie will surely give them nightmares... I certainly agree with the others. I'm a Disney fanatic and I thought Hunchback definitely should have been PG-13 (even without everyone dying in the end like in the book). It was filled with intense themes/ scenes. So was UP!

I thought when they had The Neverending Story they would say it was because his horse get pulled to the bottom of a swamp while he screams and cries out of sadness. But I guess a the luck dragon is really creepy because it acts like a dog when its ear gets scratched.
