I am a Mormon and you guys are so far off the truth of the LDS church that it reminds me of the way the liberals and media deliberately spin the conservatives beliefs by deceptive deliberation. You guys are helping christians join the mormon church by challenging christian to investigate your false claims against Mormonism. .
yup, one time I was told what it was we believed in! he TOLD me what it was I was worshiping...I corrected him and said "no you worship the devil!" if anything he made a joke of himself
We all do a ritual anytime we go to court to testify. We raise our right arm to a square and swear to god. I think they have taken the bible out of the picture these days. The ritual changed.. but still means the same thing.
Now it is important to note that the rituals are a way by which to teach the doctrines. The rituals can be changed at any time as long as the doctrine being taught remains the same. Example.. if the ritual in the past was to clap three times and turn in a cicle. and now they change the ritual to stomp three time and don't turn.. what does it matter? Of course I am not saying that this example is what goes on in the temple.. it doesn't. Just an example of a ritual and it being changed.
Some church members have a limited understanding of things that go on in the church. Example.. Temple Rituals. Free Mason based. Joseph Smith was a free mason.. and as he was receiving revelation from God on temple covenants.. he realized that he needed to the teach these to the saints. Well the masons did rituals that help teach their beliefs. The rituals made it easier to remember and Joseph thought.. hey.. this is a way that will help the saints remember too. He borrowed the concept.
Well, what about the occult and Masonic symbols on temples? What are the purpose of those? He must have at least understood the Masonic symbol's meanings. And even then, why have occult ones as well?
Just because a symbols means one thing to one group does not mean it means the same thing to another group.
When you say occult, normally that refers to any system claiming use or knowledge of secret or supernatural powers.. which Gods power is supernatural. Another defination is beyond the range of ordinary knowledge or understanding. So if the term occult is to mean something negative.. like Satan.. then that is not the meaning that is used. What kind of symbols are you speaking about?
Oh I was just wondering about the pentagram, and the masonic symbols(eye, sun thingy, etc.) I am just wondering why he borrowed those symbols as well. And I think the pentagram was used only by witches, or pagans or something that God condemns, so why borrow that one even if there is a different meaning.
I am sure that all children in the various organizations are taught all of the doctrines of that church at a young age. Geez... you teach the doctrines when they are capable of having an understanding of the doctrine. Teaching a child about eternal progression has no purpose until they can understand what it means. I always think that asking someone a question about another persons religion.. should be answered by the person who is of that religion. Otherwise.. you get partial truths.
Regarding polygamy, Abraham of the Old Testament was a polygamist. In fact many Biblical prophets were.
"Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar." Genesis 16:1
"And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife." Genesis 16:3
"Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah." Genesis 25:1
Why do anti's have to continue with the rhetoric, the ridiculous idea the LDS members have no idea what their church teaches. I also find it humorous having exmormons in the audiance, these are the guys that "know what they're talking about."
How dare these people take something so sacred to the LDS community and broadcast it on the internet? If temple ceremonies are indeed false, there is nothing to gain by laying them out and telling the world about them. That just shows an incredible amount of rudeness and lack of respect. Besides, there is no need to tell about them if you just "disproved" Mormonism. I would be deeply ashamed to be part of this program.
EverASurprise- What did anyone do in this video that they should be ashamed of? No one said exactly what happens in the LDS temple. It is true that Joseph Smith was a Mason. It's true that the LDS and Masonic Temple ceremonies are very similar. It is one of the reasons we left the LDS church. My husband watched a program on TV about the Masons. When they started talking about what happened in their temple, he told me it was just like what happens in the LDS temple.
I've never looked in it, but when I was LDS I was told that the Library of Congress had a record of what is said and goes on in the temple.
What you think is "shameful", may not be what others think is shameful. I wish I could have known what really happens in the LDS temple before I went. I went through way before 2005; I was shocked and scared of what I had to do there. To me that was "shameful". There are other things about the LDS church I think are "shameful".

How dare these people take something so sacred to Latter-Day Saints and post it over the internet? Temple rituals are considered sacred to them and you post them on the internet for all to see? If they are false you can still respect the LDS community's thought of them to be sacred. There is no need to post it if you just "disproved" Mormonism. It just shows a great amount of rudeness and lack of respect on your part. I would be ashamed to be part of your program.
I'm LDS and I've known about obtaining my godhood since I was a little girl. You learn about that in Sunday School and Young Women's when you are in youth years as well. I say anyone who doesn't know it then it is their fault for not studying their religion. I ask questions all the time, tons, and no one ever tells me not to. They embrace them and answer them and give me references.
NOTE TO ALL VIEWERS: The reason we had so many chairs setup is because we had a LOT more people at the event prior to the Question and Answer time. Since we ended up going an hour overtime, only a few stayed for the Q & A.

No, but she said on this video that you could go to the website and get all the temple information. THAT, is shameful.

The game is up for Mormonism .
All those people held captive through deceptive teachings and a hidden and falsely re-written history.
Its time to let the Mormon people go free.
