  • Did anyone else notice that there was a boy at the back of the line? Mr Darcy couldn't have joined in even if he wanted too and those girls sitting down were obviously frigid whores

  • My loneliness is killing me...LOVE

  • Watching this, it's brought me to the conclusion that if Robert Webb ever wants to give serious acting a go, a Jane Austen adaptation is the way to go.

  • do you see the dislike bar?

    Yeah me neither ;)

  • They should do their own 6 hour version, and throw in some lady gaga.

  • fucking hilarious

  • OH CAROLINE WOULD YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP?!

  • Yay! Another version of P&P to add to my favorites!

  • Hilarious...nice free form disco Mr. Darcy!

  • Did anyone else notice that Mr. Darcy's dance was to a version of Brittany Spear's "Hit Me Baby One More Time"?

  • Perfect!!!!

  • "Posh dancing", finally some kind of dance that David Mitchell could pull off ...

  • "a gentlemen does not the conga" xDDDD that's funny to hear

"Oh, Caroline would you please shut the fuck up?!" dude, I always wanted that to happen when I read the book xDDD

And the disco free style dance of mr. Darcy xDDDDDDD I roll in the floor laughing xDDDDD

  • I'd give a limb for an album of Britney Spears harpsichord renditions. I am only slightly ashamed to admit that.

  • @Discomoosebot Opps I see you already mentioned this, good catch. :)

  • Check it out, White Guy got some moves!

  • this is funny as shit and thats funny!!!!!

  • Okay, so now I've just sprayed wine all over my monitor because of 2:07 and onwards.

    Dying with laughter. Thankyou M&W

  • It's been a while since I read the book, but this is awesome. Caroline is a class-A bitch who deserves to be told to shut up in the most impolite way possible...

  • I actually started clapping at the "PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP!" My thoughts concerning Caroline, were summed up in one single sentence!

  • The song is 'Hit Me Baby One More Time.' lol

  • 'OH CAROLINE, WOULD YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP?!'

I'm in the middle of writing a P&P essay. I want to scream that right now.

  • I love it whenever Webb shouts at the top of his voice. He's just so angry =P

  • This was the first non-Sir Digby sketch I really fell in love with, followed by the grammar nazi gunman.

  • 1:36 He pretty much does say that in the novel, just in the politest way possible

  • OOH MR. DARCY, OHH!!!

  • @MastaHinata

No no dear, it's Mistah Daahhhhhcy!

  • @molegoddess

I am sorry madame, I must go back to my lessons and try again later

  • One person DOES NOT conga. 744 people conga's with the best of them.

  • "OH CAROLINE SHAWT THE FAWWWWK UP!!!!" LOLOLOLOL

  • OKay, I dont know why I did this or how i managed to do it, but I just learned the dance steps that Darcy did at the end.

  • 1:36 made my day, along with the dancing

  • Guys, it's ...Baby One More Time, not Hit Me Baby One More Time

  • 1:36 who HASN'T wanted to say that to Caroline Bingley at some point in the book?

  • Whenever I watch Pride and Predjudice (the tv-series not the movie because the movie is terrible) I scream for mr.Darcy to say 1:36 to miss.Bingley!

  • I absolutely love Pride and Prejudice, and this was still awesome :p

  • Win.

  • Oh Caroline will you please SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the most hilarious thing! Their representations are spot-on (save a few...slight...modifications :p)!

  • The harpsichordist is playing "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears as a background for Darcy's brief exhibition of his freestyle disco prowess.

  • 1:36 - THANK YOU D'ARCY!

  • I do not know what is funnier, the ridiculous anachronism or the fact that he's not half bad.

  • im going to dance like that next time i go to a club. and i want someone playing "hit me baby one more time" on a harpsichord when i do.

  • lol @ 1:35

that is exactly what i always wanted to say to those sorts of women in period dramas.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAH first off P&P is my favorite book and I'm so glad Darcy finally yelled at Caroline. And I absolutely LOVE how he's dancing to 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'....just classic.

  • This is exactly what I wanted to scream when I had to read rubbish like this in HS.

  • @eskyguard Yes, that's what you stated a year ago.

  • @Z3nt4

HAHHAHA! I totally forgot I posted on here in the past! You got me, pal, you got me good.

  • @eskyguard ...but its a Top comment. How could you NOT see it? =P

  • @ailaeldora

I think my hatred for the book temporarily impaired my ability to read.

  • She had it coming, who wouldn't say that to an obnoxious and arrogant woman?

  • Is that Hit Me Baby One More Time on the Harpsichord? Wonderful.

  • I have to dance like this in a play.

  • am I the only one that noticed that there was a man in the end of the congaline?

  • @sindrehsoereide I noticed that, too.

  • 1:36 is what i wanted to say to everyone who i spoke to today.

  • If only Pride and Prejudice featured the conga and freestyle disco dancing...

  • What I wouldn't give for an edited version of 'Pride and Prejudice' with the added line, 'Oh, Caroline would you please SHUT THE FUCK UP?'

  • I wish I could dance like that.

  • If this is what we've all wanted for Caroline - I'd hate to think what would happen to Mrs Norris.

  • Its the new banana dance!

  • 1.40 hahaha

  • Hit Me Baby One More Time on the harpsichord and Mr. Darcy doing freestyle disco. Well, I've seen everything.

  • Oh damn! Wish he put in some of his What a Feeling dance moves!

  • I'm sorry but this is a MASSIVE WIN for anyone who's ever read the book.

'CAROLINE WOULD YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP!' I bet even Jane austen thought that when she wrote the book.

  • pray, what does this have to do with poor mr darcey?

it's meant to go boy girl, boy girl.

    mr darcey?

IT'S MEANT TO GO BOY GIRL BOY GIRL.

  • i love it :3 it's so funny

someone seriously should add this to the "special features" section of one of the pride and prejudice dvds.

  • Sb4Sb

  • comic genius!!!

  • At 1:45 I had to pause for quite some time as I cried with laughter and gripped my ribs while rolling quite literally on my back

  • Lizzy's got older...

  • I love how accurate this is

  • Who is Elizabeth Bennet being played by here? Is it Abigail Burdess?

  • i actually love miss bennett's voice.

and this entire sketch really <3

  • From what bird was that feather taken from. It's absolutey huge.

  • anything with webb dancing is sheer gold.

  • I couldnt breath from laughing so hard. I absolutely love Austen but this was Heelahreus!

  • @RedBaron I think its hit me baby too. It sounds like it.

  • "A gentleman does not conga"

    hahahahahahah =) =)

  • "A gentleman does no conga"

    hahahahahahah =) =)

  • Brilliant and VERY BRITISH , including the profanities!

  • Yeah the music is definitely "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. It's hard to tell with all the laughter.

  • Does anyone know if the music for his freestyle disco has a name (or if it was specific for this skit)?

Me and my friend want to learn the dance.

  • Comment removed

  • It's hit me baby one more time by britney spears. (But on harpsichord)

  • Comment removed

  • @prettywildgurl

The "Free style disco music" ist the "Dance of the líttle Swans" from Swan Lake,by Tchaikovsky.

  • no, it's 'baby one more time'. listen again!

  • @Chrysaria

it isnt :3 you can hear because you can hear that high bit like "my loneliness is killing me and i, i must confess, i still believe ^still believe^"

but they are very similar pieces of music (i had to study "britney spears' swan lake inspiration" as one of the topics in music class when i was 11. yawn :3 )

and it makes sense if its britney because its free style disco and they wouldnt use ballet music for that. they used conga music for the conga why should it be different for disco?

  • @Chrysaria Yeah it sounded like it to me, too

  • His freeform disco gets me EVERY time.

  • UG FTW olololo

  • Ow ow ow tea just shot out of my nose when he started to dance

  • Genius

  • "WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP!" XD

How many times did I want to tell that stroppy bitch those words while I was read P&P I do not know. -.-

  • Me too!!!

I think David and Robert have acted out some of my most weird fantasies...

  • You know, I posted this on the Oregon Regency Society website a while ago, and it's become quite the mantra among our membership. At the Feast of the Twelfth Night on saturday, we were all standing in line to dance, and someone said: I am a gentleman... I only do freeform disco. And then a bunch of us blurted out: Oh, Caroline, would you please shut the (bleep) up!

  • I'm doing Pride & Predjudice in English! It would be so much more interesting if it was like this!

  • OMG, love. it! Free form disco! Bwuaaah!

  • OMG... I nearly died laughing.

  • nothing should be allowed to be that beautiful!

  • @Paranoiya5 What's this?

  • @GarnetBering93 His dancing ^^ <3

  • @GarnetBering93 Gotcha. :P

  • Oh god...he's dancing to Hit Me Baby One More Time.

  • 1:36 is exactly what I wanted to scream when I had to read this book in high school.

  • @eskyguard Amen to that, my friend!!

  • @eskyguard ironically, most of the books by jane austen were initially written as a large shut up to pretentious English culture :P but nowadays, we just see the hard to read, out of date words used, and hate it

  • Absolutely one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Pride and Prejudice's Mr. Darcy's - "Gentlemen don't conga." rather they "Free Form Disco".

  • i love this video!!!!
