What they were doing would have been illegal once they arrived near Gaza but during the time the commandos invaded the ship, they were not in Ashdod. I am completely aware of the boat inspection law. Once they arrived to Gaza, thats when israel was allowed to punish them for going around ashdod, but as long they're in international waters they can go around whatever they want.

I know because an Armenian soldier was killed for going into Gaza, the only way was to arrest them before they got to the coast because who knows who was in the coast.

What they were doing would have been illegal once they arrived near Gaza but during the time the commandos invaded the ship, they were not in Ashdod. I am completely aware of the boat inspection law. Once they arrived to Gaza, thats when israel was allowed to punish them for going around ashdod, but as long they're in international waters they can go around whatever they want.

The Israeli soldiers never even go in Gaza for their safety, especially in the coast, there are only certain areas of Gaza they go in, and other areas they don't for dangerous reasons. The Israelis guard the seas in boats, they are not in the land of Gaza and if they were they would be dead. I know because an Armenian soldier was killed for going into Gaza, the only way was to arrest them before they got to the coast because who knows who was in the coast.

Obviously Israel didn't WANT to kill anyone on the flotilla because it isn't in their self-interest. Obviously it isn't good for Israel or their blockade to cause an international incident. But let's try to exercise some common sense. Go up to a police officer in whatever country you live in and start beating him over the head with metal poles and stab him in the chest a few times to see what happens. My hypothesis is that his partner will shoot you in the face.
