brilliantly done! i have to say, this is one of the best backpacking videos I've seen on YouTube. great shots of the terrain, wildlife, etc. And, it looks like a great trip.
@ESX888 Thanks a lot for the possitive feedback. It takes a suprising amount of work to put together even a short video such as this. Hopefully this will inspire others to get out there and enjoy our wilderness areas!
I'd like to take my 11 year old son backpacking in this area in two weeks and trying to do my research. He's pretty capable and could manage up to 4 miles of hiking before we break for camp.... can we get into some good back country sites from the 4th of July trailhead within 4 miles of the trailhead? Thanks! Bill
Was this Aug 19 when you soloed on arapahoe pass or was that when you posted it? My son and I are going up arapahoe pass this weekend from t6he west side by columbine lake trail. I think we're gonna find lots of snow by the looks of it.
@billhemingway I think I posted this video a few days after the actual climb. As far as snow, last week I needed snow shoes to get into the Indian Peaks (in the trees from about 10k up). The warm weather in the past couple days has probably helped but I would be prepared to travel on snow. Have fun!
Ehh, their ok, about 6 years old so the carbide tips are not too sharp any more. I pretty much just use them on mellow stuff, not for 2nd and 3rd class stuff. They double as my tent poles though, cuts some weight.
Gostei muito do seu vídeo, belas paisagens, parabéns !

Where did you camp in relation to south arapaho peak? Were you near the glacier on the east side?

@BrianWilsonJacob I camped at arapaho pass, right by lake Dorothy. I believe it's south of South Arapaho.

Thanks, used a Lumix FZ-28. It does decent video and stills - pretty compact with an 18X zoom.

How are trekking poles on those rocks? Do you use something other than carbide tips for those?
