You need a few thing to own a fox. First (if you live in the US) you will need a state authorized card saying its legal for you to own exotic pets. Then you need to find a breeder. The breeder I know lives in Oklahoma, but they are all over the US. A fox kit can range in price from 300ish for female and 450ish for males. Aside from food and housing thats pretty much it, but foxes will hide dead animals they catch in your house if youre not careful. That and they have strong smelling urine.
The prices depend on the breed of fox. You shouldn't pay anymore than fifty to a hundred dollars for a red fox. Otherwise the breeder is over pricing you. Arctics and other color variations however may range higher. Fennecs cost at least 1000 dollars.

before you even consider getting a fox, yoou need to learn about the laws and regulations on foxes in your area. some places allow foxes if you have a permit, other places have foxes banned alltogether.

Great video of Tod. Our Sasha only played with a laser pointer UNTIL she figured out where the red dot was coming from. Then she would pointedly ignore the dot. We have always wanted a fox ourselves.
The best thing about having a fox around during the Holidays is that you'll NEVER have to worry about Christmas Tree thieves stealing the pines from your yard. ;)
