They are harmless.

They only feed on plankton and as you can see they do not have any teeth. They have no interest in humans or animals. I still would be scared as hell though if I was in the water with one considering how big they can grow.

yah there the 2nd biggest fish in the world behind the whale shark. I was on a Whale watch off the coast Of GLouster Mass and Usally you see the maybe 3 or 4 whales we got very lucky saw about 9 humbacks and 7 Basking sharks at the very end were all togther it was amaziing how big they were and they were not one bit shy they were like right below us it was awsome
