Watch very closely at around 2:50. Look at how he chooses items from the box, how he holds them, and how he is carefully applying something to Robbie's arms.
at 5:24 you can acctually see the latex slip, darren realiezes it, then darren quickly changes the angle of the arm so the plaster hides in the shadow...

Since I've been posting on a couple of DB videos with possible explanations I'll give this one a go.
The slings slow (or maybe even stop) blood circulation or at least nerve endings have pressure on them (a specific part of the upper arm maybe - like getting a dead arm).
It does look like it went a bit wrong at the end when Robbie feels pain (there was a bit of blood too so maybe circulation doesn't stop but the nerves are impeded)

The needles are real and contain blood in the bulb ends, the skin is fake and is painted on, I honestly forget the name of it. It looks like skin and acts like skin. They would have to paint on the tattos afterwards. Robbie was in on it:)

The reason he's not bleeding is that you have so much extra skin on that area of your arms. Derren isn't cutting into anything or piercing anything besides skin, and skin doesn't bleed. :]

Yep, you are right, when he first wipes his arms he is putting rubber cement onto his arm. He then rubs vaseline onto the needle. he pinches the skin around the needle, note there are then no close up views of his arms. the bulb at the end of the needle has stage blood in and there is a hole about half way along the needle which allows the stage blood to come out under the pinched skin.
I adore Derren - I do - and watch in awe of many of his clips. But this one disturbs me somewhat. I just don't see what's go good about it. RW is clearly in pain (ok, less than he would be if I stuck needles in his arms but in pain nevertheless) and I just don't see what's that good about it. It's a weird one.

I think it has to do with the fact his arms are hanging there, so there'll be less blood in his arms. Thats why there wasn't any blood at pulling the needles out. By singint that song he wasn't payin attention to his arms or something which made it possible for derren to put them in

I adore Derren - I do - and watch in awe of many of his clips. But this one disturbs me somewhat. I just don't see what's go good about it. RW is clearly in pain (ok, less than he would be if I stuck needles in his arms but in pain nevertheless) and I just don't see what's that good about it. It's a weird one.

I don't mean to have a go at you, but I do think being gay and sexual practices besides heterosexual intercourse are completely natural; it is unrealistic to expect sexual attraction to be perfectly procreatively efficient- THAT would be unnatural. Even straight people thwart "nature" by having sex for pleasure using contraception and those who are heterosexually attracted to infertile people are just as "unnatural" in your terms, as they may as well be of the same sex. WTH is "natural", anyway?

this is the most easiest trick to do..
first he hypnotized him..so that he dosnt know what he's doing...
then he applied some glue to his arms...when he said...its gonna feel a little cold and wet..
then...when the camera moves....he simply put needle on his arm..u can even do it with a matchstick...and glued the skin together on the both sides of the needle...and it looked like..as if he actually inserted the needle insi

I think it has to do with the fact his arms are hanging there, so there'll be less blood in his arms. Thats why there wasn't any blood at pulling the needles out. By singint that song he wasn't payin attention to his arms or something which made it possible for derren to put them in

For me it looks like he cheated on Robbie's mind for some time... but when the mind started to get control of the body.. it returned the blood to his normal corse and thats what it looks to happen in the 2nd needle... that's why he made him return to the same trance state again the body was again beeing controled by his sub-conscience and avoided the blood to flee. I don't see other possible explenation

Don't quite believe it's real. The glue is a much better explaination than the lack of blood and the numbness.

It depends on the context of whats going on surly. He is clearly in trance right there. As stated before the mind becomes ocupied by the redundant song and shuts off somewhat its a redirected vocus. Hypnosis is nothing to doubt its a natural thing that happens with the mind or should I say "TRANCE STATES"
