there r 2 hints - kyu's mum doesnt want to do anyting with detective work.

at 1 point she said - he is like his father.

explains itself i guess.

@ainnhana SPOILER! Kyus father was Dans assistant and also the detective who saved Kyus life. Another hint is that later Dan remarks on how close Kyu looks to someone...his former partner. Kyus dad dies saving Dan which is why we dont see him in the series.

@CreativeStoryArtist well it is pretty obvious. probably take good care of those people who already watched this series like a billion times. and i bet those people are watching it again and again. and you also forgot that in the last episode... *another spoiler*, when Dan sensei told Kyuu, "he once went into the enemy's hideout to save his son" that was like the hugest hint that the detective who saved Kyu was his dad.

actually dan wasnt kyu's father, for there could only be only 1 answer (totally kyu style). instead kyu's father used to work for dan. and due to his dangerous work, there grew a rift between kyu's parents. now lets wait for the result.
