I enjoy reading your comments and some of them make me laugh. The speech was given by Hon. Shirley Chisholm of New York in the House of represetatives on May 21, 1969. Back then the conditions were way different to today and we have come a very long way in terms of equality. I had to do this speech as an assignment for my public speaking class in 2007. I think equality exists. In some areas women and blacks have no rights, in some areas they have equal rights, and in some areas they have more rights than men and whites. The same can be said about men and whites. Like with issues over family and children, women have all the rights and men have next to none. And this is just my opinion, feel free to hate on it if you want to...
