I can't even think of any off-hand, so while we are on the topic of people pulling things out of their ass, you are doing it right now. And I agree with the sentiment that killing in the name of god has led to more deaths than a lot of other reasons. You can't truly justify killing for land or money, but I can open the bible, koran, etc, and find plenty of rationalizations for killing people who disagree.

However, I can open the Bible, what a lot of Christians teach as the "perfect word of god" and find multitudes of verses that tell me to kill adulterers, disobedient children, homosexuals, blasphemers, people who work on the sabbath, thieves, and the list goes on and on. HUGE difference to a newspaper reporting a murder.

If a news program would start drawing a correlation between dogs and diseases, people would first very meticulously investigate such news, not believe it based on the source. They would try to verify it by many different means and sources. I know I do it, I know many do it!
