  • I don't think she is a murder but talk about no class

  • Comment removed

  • in my personal opinion, she was very lucky that the other fiance who was in jail was killed; otherwise she'd still be there

  • @Brinah He was never her fiancee. That was made up. His death didn't help her because he never said he thought she did it and he never testified against her. If he'd lived, his conviction would have been overturned for the same reason her was, a bad biased judge who ran unfair trials.

  • @Daisymight thank you for your insight! :)

  • @Daisymight

They had way more evidence on him I think he still would have been convicted.

  • She's not guilty! I'm friends with her on facebook and she is so friendly! :)

  • She is free and undergoing a new trial now, Carin was murdererred in prison, she can manipulate her lawyer, husband, and the supreme court. How she is free I will never know

  • @smith077906 Read the appellate court's decision unanimously reached by three appellate judges in a little over a month, and then you'll know.

  • She's Innocent. People, read "A Scottish Murder" Rewriting the Madeleine Smith Story...hell, she even looks like poor Madeleine Smith! Wouldn't be the first time someone FRAMED the one who jilted them! For murder no less! Such evil dwells in the hearts of men!

  • Why does that woman on the right have to make those silly faces?

  • That woman behind her that looks like a clown is really getting on my nerves.

  • A man is dead. A mans family no longer has a son, brother or a friend. He would NOT be dead today if they never met. She is guilty of that.

  • She had 4 guys going at once. She told all of them that she wanted to marry them all. She used those poor suckers. She may not have pulled the trigger, but she used her vagina to get someone to do it. She has been able to manipulate men her whole life. I'm glad her life has been hell for this. I hope she burns for it.

Even if she did not kill that guy, She should have to do time in prison for using 4 men at once for her own gains.

A man is dead. He would NOT be dead if they never met!!!

  • @TIMOTHYBROCKWELL "He would NOT be dead if they never met!!! "

There is no possible way you could know that. What a silly thing to think and say.

  • She's innocent that's why they recently let her go and she's awaiting a new trial

  • Look at me trying to make myself relatable to every person in the room...classic manipulation tactic, and the explanation of why she's telling you all this: drive home the manipulation, and a sneak peak of the dark and tortured insecurity inside of her.

if she considered him a friend, why was she angry when he died, and why did he suspect her of foul play?? all the breaths and long pauses, trying very hard to stay cool, and calm, "sincere", but not actually crying...

  • Definitely a manipulator who nearly got away. The evidence was there, an appeal won't help the bitch.

  • She is SOOO guilty !!!

  • ML is spoiled, abysmal fake; had first-hand knowledge of KL's murder by JC, i.e., accessory to his murder; lied to Alaska authorities 5/3/96 in recorded interviews she knew of no one who had problem with KL; knew JC detested and was going to kill him for both their benefits in Hope--a site to which ML lured KL. Telling that ML reverts from full baby-talk/baby voice to address judge at sentencing to more adult tone/pronunciation, but still beseeches him with infantile, sympathize-with-me voice.

  • there is Michele's side of the story , there is Kent's side, and there is the TRUTH. She is morally responsible for setting this whole think in motion, and I would not be surprised if she were found guilty in the second trial. If the authorities did not believe they could convict her all over again, she would have just been set free. Her family should be thankful that they at least still have her alive.

  • Why would she buy a million dollar life insurance policy before she wasn't interested in getting married to Leppink? He had the change of benny form on him when he died. He knew his life was in danger and felt they all were in a plot to kill him. If he would have let her know that the policy was in his parents name, it would have saved his life. SHE IS GUILTY IN MY OPINION.

  • they will definitely retry her, because they know that even without the evidence that caused the verdict to be overturned, they will still be able to prove her guilt.

  • You commenters have all been duped. This lady was a cold blooded murderer. She got a pass all her life because of her looks so it filled her head up with so much narcissism she thought she could get away with murder. Hope she rots for a long time up in Alaska.

  • @shmiggen She's not that exceptionally beautiful.

  • i don't think she did it....

  • Theres tons of evidence against her , she was manipulating 3 men at the time of the murder, agreed to marry all 3 , she brained washed all most everyone , she is guilty plain and simple , she deservers to be in prison

  • They overturned her conviction unanimously today. Hopefully they won't retry this case.

  • Listen to the letters and how they were wrote. If that is not a basket case what is it. They need to let that lady go home to her family. My prays are with the Linehans.

  • I don't think she did it. I think that Kent was a basket case. He made him self believe that they were gonna get married. She wasn't a cold hearted person so she told him what he wanted to hear when he was pleading and acting pathetic. The truth will prevail. When the truth came face to face with him and he couldn't do nothing but accept it he became suicidal. I think he had already made his mind up to kill himself but he blamed his insanity on Mechele he wanted to make sure she didn't walk away

  • i think either carlin acted on his own out of jealousy also.. or kent had it done his self.. something is obviously not right, ecspecially with the letters he wrote... "make sure mechele and carlin pay" come on now.... free mechele...

  • She looks good in red. That's her outfit

  • she never mentioned all the time she worked as a stripper on bourbon street using her sister's identity at big daddy's and we all knew her as a pickpocket and a notorious prostitute who used to tell her fiance(now husband) that she was going to mass at church when she was going out to turn tricks. she would tell him that it killed her to work on bourbon and she had to go repent. she repented, 5 nights a week at big daddy's on bourbon street. then she moved on totempations on bourbon st.

  • @fuckcrackas1 : No, that was you.

  • I think that Carlin acted on his own jealousy.Lappink was obviously obsessed with Mechele. She probably made immature comments that Carlin reacted to.Mechele probably learned of it later.I think that she knew after the fact. She should've told what she knew.

  • There are so many elements about this case that bother me.If Kent Lappink was really concerned about being murdered by Hughes,Carlin,and/or Hilke, why would he go to Hope to hunt down Hughes? How was it that Lappinks's parents didn't read the letter that pointed to his murderer's until one day after being notified of his death?C'mon.Wouldn't the parents of a very troubled son have ripped open that letter in earnest as soon as they received the letter?I think that Kent was gay.

  • I know, that package he sent his parents bothers me too. Why did he go to all that effort to name his future killers, but seemed to make no effort at all to protect his own life? That makes no sense.

  • @jollyjock I agree; I think that letter should not have been admissible in court

  • She can't acted to save her life, this is so obviously laid on, the tone, the little fake voice, the poor little girl unconvincing act of her....who can believe her? you need to have an I.Q less than 80 or being driven by lust hormones., this is so laughable!

  • yet another american convicted with no evidence, what a joke.

  • There was plenty of "evidence". Try actually watching and knowing the case before you make bullshit stupid remarks like that, puss.

  • @Kyros No, KtownCrush was right. You are the one who needs to learn about the case-beyond that tabloid true crime crash you watch and read.

  • @MrMinisterman When I want your monkey brained opinion I'll rattle your cage, okay? The bitch went down for being a scumbag criminal. Think before you type.

  • @Kyros But her conviction was thrown out and the judges listed one of the reasons as the "only thin circumstantial evidence" cobbled together from a wide range of incidents that could be "interpreted in different ways." Those who are capable of communicating only with vulgarity and insults might want to think twice about throwing stones when it comes to having "monkey brained" opinions. lol

  • @MrMinisterman Spin the story to whatever comfort level you're feeling the best with. That doesn't concern me. What does concern me is the fact that you're suffering from an inferiority complex. Don't be so forgiving and gullible. Scumbags aren't worth it. ;-)

  • @Kyros Thanks for your concern, but the ability to think rationally and fairly instead of being blinded by angry emotions toward women and whatever others I think are out there to get me isn't an inferiority problem. I'm okay. You might want to consider your own tendency to indulge in rageaholic judgments and outbursts though. It is never the sign of a healthy, happy person. Good luck!

  • @MrMinisterman It's not my problem you feel threatened and insecure about this. I'm the wrong guy to project this to. Don't let this petty issue about this criminal effect the way you live your life. Move on!

  • @Kyros : This is how you spend your time, being all icky and scary hateful, with your small penis-woman hating going on, and you call someone else insecure and threatened? ROTFL!

  • @wordwistful Speaking of "threatened" and "insecure". It isn't my fault you have dick envy, wishful. Take your aggression out on someone else. ;-)

  • @Kyros I meant to say that I do agree with you about scumbags, I just do not believe in labeling people scumbags and locking them up without proof-positive that is what they are. I also don't believe in punishments too severe for what we can prove people did.

  • @MrMinisterman You don't believe in justice in this case in other words. Just because the legal system doesn't suit your agenda. Gotcha!

  • @MrMinisterman - Hi there! What's the deal with chick? Is she in prison, or did she get released? Was she paroled or vindicated? Thank you in advance for any replies, but if not ... no worries ...

    Regards,

    B. ♀♥

  • @Brooke684 Her conviction was overturned and she's out on bail awaiting a new trial.

  • @princejojo2 - Thank you. After I watched this, I researched her story. Also, it was on the news the other night. The guy who was sentenced "with her" was beaten to death in his cell in 2008. I hope that made sense.

  • @princejojo2 Really? When was that?

  • @KazuyaaMishima : He was beaten to death by other inmates at least three years ago. It took Alaska authorities over 2.5 years to "solve" the crime even though inmates have cameras on them and inmates started talking about what they knew right away. His appeal was in process when he was killed so the court threw out his conviction as though it never happened.

  • @Kyros :The appellate court of three judges unanimously disagreed with you. They called it thin and "hardly overwhelming," which in judge-speak means, "WTF were you thinking you dimwit judge!"

  • Just proves the power of the pussy. Men have been gulible over time to its overpowering effect and are sometimes helpless to defend themselves, I think men are stupid for giving out money to strippers

  • How pathetic. Each word out of her mouth an attempt and prove her innocent, "modest" life. I call your bullsh*t. This makes me sick.

  • women have a power that mechele knows how to wield extremely well

  • A complete psychotic..I hope she dies Fat & Old in a rotting prison cell..but suffers a few decades of agony first..Her statement is an act..Inside she feels nothing..

  • a TOTAL selfish,remorselass sociopath...Exactly the same personality as Ted Bundy..She was undersentenced..Deserved a death sentence..

  • What in the *&(^&^ is this winch telling him that crap for?

  • Comment removed

  • @iadknee That evidence was discounted because it was made up out of jealousy and a grab for attention by that high and barely comprehensible witness illegally used as a perjuring witness. The one the judge rushed to end the day for because she had to go home to her special needs child, but then she spent the next three days getting drunk with reporters. That means if you want to believe all the hocus-pocus accusations against this woman, you need to come up with something else.

  • Wasn't she supposed to file an appeal? Does anyone know what happened with that?

  • PEOPLE! Before you condemn in your silly self righteousness this woman.... Google up Madelein Smith (NOT the crumpet queen here on youtube), and read her story. A Scottish Murder, by Jimmy Powdrell Campbell. It really ISN'T too far fetched, or even uncommon for people to set their deaths up to ruin the lives of those they are obsessed with, as punishment for not loving them the way they felt they should be.

  • I feel guilty that I bailed on this case as a juror. I do think Mechele was somewhat involved in this crime. She considered all that money, talked about it, played games, sure. But I also think she was under the influence of substance and living with 2 men both over a decade older and wiser than she. Maybe she wasn't the manipulative one. 99 years is WAY to harsh. Read the case story. Leppink knew what was waiting in Hope. I think it was his form of suicide. She didn't pull the trigger.

  • I take it you all think she is guilty. Don't you think it is a little strange that you can get convicted by being simply a stripper. Perhaps she did do it, we don't know, however it is interesting to see how people can be exceptionally cruel even if there may be a chance that she is innocent.

  • It's not just b/c she was a stripper. We have all seen the evidence and yes, think she's guilty and manipulative as hell. The judge has seen even more evidence than us and had ZERO hesitations in sentencing her to the maximum time, 99 years. So yes, I think it's safe to say there is no chance she is innocent.

  • Not innocent by any means, but @ age 23, one can live in a fantasy world. Add alcohol or drugs and....I'm sure she never expected it to happen, she did actually try to cancel the policy prior to her leaving town. Leppink knew he was going to his death, doesn't it smell funny to you that he went anyway...even w/his mom begging him not to? Had his insurance policy in one of his pockets too! READ: A Scottish Murder , or google up Madelein Smith

  • I believe that she did not actually intend to cancel the policy but called and "tried" to cancel the policy even though she knew that she would be unable to do so at that time due to all of the fine print in the policy. She did this as yet another defense mechanism if she was questioned about the insurance being a motive for her masterminding the murder. I think the timing of the call to the insurance agency is even more evidence against her. She really thought she had all of her bases covered.

  • @eg135687 The insurance agent testified she called and left a reminder of the cancellation and that she wanted a refund. The prosecutor said it was a "ruse" but provided no evidence that it was. You can believe it all you want to, but to charge and convict a person the law and morality requires more than belief. It requires proof and there wasn't any.

  • @eg135687 : The insurance agent tesitifed Kent Leppink tried to cancel the policy to get the refund a week or two before she did. She paid for it because he was broke and he was supposed to pay her back, since he wanted it in the first place like the rest of his family all had million dollar policies on each other. If she paid for it, then wasn't he trying to steal her money when he asked for the refund while she was out of the state?

  • @eg135687 : I also wonder why the policy was still in effect since both of them had said to cancel it and requested a refund, especially since she canceled it and she'd paid for it. Why did the insurance pay it out then? Something fishy about all of that, and it shows Kent Leppink to be a smarmy money chaser. There was a $100,000.00 or $150,000.00 policy on her life too, but no one talks about that.

  • @eg135687 : The appellate judges disagreed with you and said there wasn't much evidence at all. Read their decision and you'll know more.

  • @wordwistful That was typed by something so confused it doesn't know whether to scratch its watch or wind its ass.

  • Ha,ha,ha --wow!What an awful acting piece. The worst I've seen from her. Rot in hell B&#^.

  • what a evil, conniving bitch! she lied to the court saying there was no relationship between her and the deceased. but the emails proved it. she's guilty as hell and deserves to be in prison where she is. throw away the key!

  • Throw away the key is right! Just like they 'threw' Ken Leppink aside.

May she rot in HELL! I feel for her kid, But her 'doctor' husband is looking for donations at a website to "FREE HER", Joke!

  • this woman scares me

    poor kent Leppink

  • How come she got such a lenient sentence?

  • I'm a ture believer in Karma. The things I've done wrong in life has come back to hunt me. It always come back when you least expect it or when something really great is about to really happen in your life. I guess this is why the timing was right for this to happen to her. She had changed her life, gotten married and had a child.

  • Couldn't agree with you more! God Knows what he does and he knows the timing.

  • I'm a true believer in karma as well...it is showcased well in this instance. And it is a shame that her daughter and husband must now suffer. I think that the reason this case is so interesting is because it seems like she is a decent person now that she is older and wiser...but she did plot a murder when she was younger and now must pay for it and leave her cushy life behind.

  • > Former Alaska stripper Mechele Linehan was

    > sentenced to 99 years in prison Wednesday for

    > her part in a murder-for-hire plot she had

    > orchestrated to get her fiance's life insurance

    > money.

I guess it was her lawyer's idea to try to get a reduced sentence - I'm happy that it didn't work.
