  • These brave men died for mother russia... they are heros

  • Do you think their death was painful??

  • @yesiamawizardjonny Entering Earths atmosphere, no it was probably quick and painless. That's a lot of heat and pressure.

  • @yesiamawizardjonny The valve that failed and caused the accident opened in space. "Flight recorder data from the single cosmonaut outfitted with biomedical sensors showed death occurred within 40 seconds of pressure loss. By 935 seconds after the retrofire, the cabin pressure was zero." (source: engineering failures dot org p = 124)

If they were dead in 40 seconds they must've lost consciousness pretty quickly after valve failure I would think.

  • @gravityengineer they remained conscious for a short time and tried to stop the loss of air, but closed the wrong valve, supposedly because of fog in the cabin. Georgy Dobrovolsky also tried to close the faulty one but couldn't do it in time. He had to open the safety belts and get out of his chair to do that, and precious seconds were lost.

  • Rest in Peace. My heart goes out to the families and friends of these three brave men.

  • So Sad :(

  • RIP !!
