I like commercials about awareness of eating disorders, but how come there basically seems to be no one in the media telling people what a healthy person is supposed to look like for EVERY body figure? I mean all we see what hourglasses can to look like, but there's more than just the hourglass body frame. I think in some ways this is more confusing because it implies that if your not an hourglass (which is genetic) then your unhealthy.

She and our good guy friend were making muffins the other day and it pained her to even take a bite.
When she told him the next day, we thought he would be so concerned. But all he said was "REALLY? Even the muffin?" like it was a joke, and never said another word about it.
People need to realize this is a REAL disease and a REAL cause of death.

For some people being thin is the goal, for other being succesful or being rich or whatever. But what is the diference? Thin people dont consume nothing, thats why they made us to believe that its wrong. Because being thin is against the system.

Annorexia takes a long time to get over. And even once you pull yourself out it's hard to let it go. I have a really hard time not thinking I'm fat now that I have weight on. And sometimes I'll relapse.

Not every girl with an eating disorder is mentally ill people. Some girls are completely normal. Its the little things that tip you off when they reach the danger zone. Its awful that these girls think theyre fat, most of these obviously come from wanting to look like this or 'little to no family reinforcement' that everyone is beautiful including them. Its horrible, and its serious.
Actually anorexia and other eating disorders are mental illnesses. Unfortunately there's a stigma associated with mental illness, and people think that being mentally ill means that you have to be crazy, weird, have an aversion to bathing or wearing normal clothing and be socially incompetent, which isn't true. Mental illnesses come in many shapes and forms and people need to realise that.

It sounds like you might need some more positive influence in your life. Next time instead of just eating, because Ive been there. Try and find something you are totally interested in. I lost 40Ibs doing DDR =O in like 3 months. Just make sure you look at a chart to find your height and proper weight range and work from that. Dont get depressed! You can do it!

I have severe anorexia and distored body image, and what I can say is that for "ME" when i was little i was ed with cuz I wasent the same size as everyone else, includeing my family, so I started to cut down on my food in take and started to excersice cuz of the fear of being "fat" now i still see my self as kinda big, but everyone in my family says im almost anorexia looking. Its something that just happens, its not cuz i want it.

I wish annorexia was looked at by the media as the same as obeisity.
Sometimes you might see a special on it but most of the focuse is on people who are morbidly over weight.
Annorexia takes a long time to get over. And even once you pull yourself out it's hard to let it go. I have a really hard time not thinking I'm fat now that I have weight on. And sometimes I'll relapse.
People didn't look at me and tell me I was too skinny and sick they said I was cute and glorified it.
It's a big deal.

Not every girl with an eating disorder is mentally ill people. Some girls are completely normal. Its the little things that tip you off when they reach the danger zone. Its awful that these girls think theyre fat, most of these obviously come from wanting to look like this or 'little to no family reinforcement' that everyone is beautiful including them. Its horrible, and its serious.

Actually anorexia and other eating disorders are mental illnesses. Unfortunately there's a stigma associated with mental illness, and people think that being mentally ill means that you have to be crazy, weird, have an aversion to bathing or wearing normal clothing and be socially incompetent, which isn't true. Mental illnesses come in many shapes and forms and people need to realise that.

It sounds like you might need some more positive influence in your life. Next time instead of just eating, because Ive been there. Try and find something you are totally interested in. I lost 40Ibs doing DDR =O in like 3 months. Just make sure you look at a chart to find your height and proper weight range and work from that. Dont get depressed! You can do it!

DDR for fitness works very well. I did it for years when I moved to a city ill-suited to running.

I have severe anorexia and distored body image, and what I can say is that for "ME" when i was little i was ed with cuz I wasent the same size as everyone else, includeing my family, so I started to cut down on my food in take and started to excersice cuz of the fear of being "fat" now i still see my self as kinda big, but everyone in my family says im almost anorexia looking. Its something that just happens, its not cuz i want it.

the girl in the mirror isn't even fat! she looks the way women are supposed to look. she's got breasts, hips, thighs. her tummy is small as well! she's curvy, soft and beautiful! i wouldn't be crying if i had that body! if only more women realized just how beautiful they are :(

My sister wants to be anorexic. She weighs 100lbs for 5'6. She doesn't look fat at all. In fact she's skinny.
But she loves McDonalds and my mom bribes her with it and stands near the bathroom when she's in it to make sure she isn't throwing it up.
It's a horrible thing. I don't know why people can't just like themselves as they are.
