  • THIS IS MY FAVORIT VERSION ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

  • In my opinion, The Tremelos had the best recording of this great song.

  • LIke this if the movie Everything Must Go, brought you here.

  • listen to this song at least once a month. 1968 was just about has good has 69. they were all there

  • I HAVE HEARD ONLY ONE ROTTEN VERSION OF THIS SONG AND THAT WAS ME SINGING IT IN THE SHOWER EVERYONE ELSE DOES IT GREAT EACH A LITTLE DIFFERENT BUT GREAT

  • The Marmalades do this song better. Will someone please post their version to YouTube? It was here once, but was removed.

  • Love the Tremeloes, and for them to pull this song off, and be so young is a feat. They are excellent. Especially the young man at 1:40. Amen!

  • love the song ,great group under ratted ,lovely to hear

  • richard manuels version is great. he sounds like curtis mayfield but after listening to every one from telly savalas to jacob miller im most impressed by aaron nevilles version.

  • aaron nevilles is my favorite

  • Amnesty International used this version of the song in one of their first campaigns, in 1968. That was a correct interpretation and use of Bob Dylan's lyrics, I think.

  • I love this song, reminds me of the old days when I was a munchkin.

  • Voices like these don't come often. What a gift.

  • Nice try Tremeloes, but no cigar. If they were giving out awards for the worst rendition of a song, you would win hands down. The Bette Midler version has more soul then this . Nobody tops The Band's

  • @bikerbobster You must be a hater of sixties' music. I had never even heard of this group until running across this song, and I think they did a pretty darn good rendition of it.

  • @xyPERSON I love sixties music, it's the music I grew up with. I've never heard the Tremeloes version of Dylan's I shall be released before, but compared to the Bands or Dylan's, it falls short for me. No heart or soul in the music and just too poppie and whitebread for my taste...too each his own.

  • From all the versions I heard so far, this is my fave.

  • Best version ever!!!! Pravo!

  • the tremeloes wr great band many good songs

  • Sounds great. They sing and play good together !!!!! A masterpiece!!!!!

  • Such a talented band, singing and playing so wonderfully well such a beautiful song.

The Tremeloes belong away up there amongst the very best of the British groups which came made their name in the Sixties.

  • this is a good song. best to listen to all the words and see the light that is shared

  • Can't believe no one has mentioned Dylan's version...the best of all of them!!! brownie

  • i never even knew they did this song! they do a pretty decent version....

  • @sugaree9. Its about a man doing time and going to be released soon.

  • Beuatiful.Anyone know the meaning?

  • @sugaree9, djebat88 is correct. But what does it mean to you? It IS about a man doing time, wrongly convicted perhaps, remembering the faces of all the men who put him there (jury, judge, etc). I can relate even though that's not my situation, to me it means feeling trapped. Helpless but not hopeless. Like a caged bird, wings clipped, waiting to fly free. We've all been there.

I see my light come shining from the west unto the east. Any day now...any day now...I shall be be released.

  • @LizetteBaguette Thanks for replying. I have always thought this song was a paralell to Christs Crucifixtion. The words speak to me this way. The beauty of song lyrics, are in the interpretation to each individual listener. The Tremeloes are my favorite singing this song, their voices are smooth, harmonies are great, and they just do it all kinds of justice.

  • @sugaree9 Whatever it's about I agree with you, sung as if they were born for it.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome! I can't find an mp3 for it though.

    So frustrating!

  • I the harmony in this number. These guys did this one right.

  • The version I like the most is with Box Tops, but this version is better than The Band.

  • I love this version.

  • You tube "I shall be released" and The Band version is the first one you'll see, so I think a lot of people would disagree. Besides the Box Tops and Band version are practically the same only the Band uses a falsetto lead vocal.

  • The Boxtops, of all people, do a great job on this. Can't find it on the net, however.

  • Gracias a Dios que los tremeloes cantaron este tema que Dylan compuso pero lo destruyo desafinando como siempre, los amo Tremeloes, descansa en paz Alan, todavia te extra;o

  • Notthing like The Band

...I don't know, i like more the voices of the Band (L

  • The Band's version is too slow. This is the better version....faster tempo

  • Those are some great voices...I prefer the Band's..but this is still great

  • i prefer Tom Robinson Band

  • This is the second Tremeloes song I have heard;the first was "Silence is Golden." They sure could sing.

  • Yo dude!

I grew up with this song.

    Love them.

    Tremeloes was great.

  • Love this song! Never heard of this group before. They're as good as anyone. Thanks for posting!!

  • They were big in the late to mid 70's...part of the British Invasion. Love them. Check out some of the other songs - "Silence is Golden", Suddenly You Love Me, Here Comes My Baby (that's one of my favorites). They

    still tour in Europe.

  • Check out the version sung by the Marmalade; definatly available on their early hits album 'I see the rain' My personal favourite

  • Una preciosa canción. Es una lástima que todavía no esté en You tube Angel of the morning, otro tema cantado por The Tremeloes en forma excelente.

  • adoooorooooooooo

  • Thank you so much for having this video. This has been my favorite song for all times...I love to listen to it over and over again!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • One of the best versions of a Bob Dylan song - IMHO. Thanks for showing this!

  • My favourite version!

  • I love it. Thank you!
