@Tiggitytye No, I am not wrong. Perhaps it is you who should consult the regs, specifically section 28.20 of the 2010-2011 California Ocean Sport Fishing Regulations (page 42). It clearly says that there is no minimum size limit on Pacific Halibut.
Exactly why you should have a reg book, as of last year min size was 36"

@neversat Wrong, Pacific halibut DO have a min size limit in Cali.

I could be wrong but CA law states that a halibut must be 28 inches. Nice fish just not a keeper. Watch out for the game warden.
