  • what shells do you use

  • I personally think that anything larger than a .22 short is overkill for a squirrel, air rifles all the way.

  • i forgot to ask but wear you hunting. like what state

  • @firehop4

    Michigan.

  • nice video. this year was my first year i could hunt squirrels because i'm younger and i had a blast with it this year i my self shot 25 squirrels with my 20.ga singled shot. you should get to do some more squirrel hunts.

  • @firehop4

    Good luck!!

  • cool video you made it look so easy by getting a live hunt on camera

  • what kind of shells

  • that was the loudest .22 ive ever heard

  • @GNR88thru98

    Wasn't a .22. It was a Remington 870 20 gauge.

  • Good job man that was nice, specially trying to film by yourself! dont have to many fox squirrels here in bama id like to kill one, most of them around here are Redish in color but pretty rare to see one. Good video tho. thumbs UP

  • nice shots! what positions do you shoot from? Offhand, leaning against a tree?

  • @Chopslord

If I'm using my shotgun I usually shoot offhand. If I have the .22 I try to lean against something so I can steady and make the head shot.

  • @wyttale hey man, nice shootin. are you using a 12 or 20 gauge? and whats your farthest shot youll make with them?

  • @4KawasakiRider4

It's a 20 gauge. Depending on the choke and the shot size determines how far to shoot with a shotgun. With my .22 I can routinely make 75 yard shots on squirrel size game.

  • @wyttale, how far of a shot would you make with a 12 gauge and a 2 3/4" load? i use either a 2 3/4 or a 3" shell, but mostly a 2 3/4" but im still hesitant to shoot over 20 or 25 yards with it even though i know i can shoot farther, its just hard to determine how far it is when your squirrel hunting.

  • @4KawasakiRider4

That depends on your shot size and the choke in your shotgun. If you are using #4 or #5 shot in a full choked barrel then 30-40 yards is doable. If you are using a modified or improved cylinder choke then keep it under 20 to 25 yards.

  • @wyttale yea its got a full choke in it, and we usually use 5 or 6 shot so ill shoot about 35 yards. thanks alot. where are you guys from anyway? we dont see to many fox squirrels where im from.

  • @4KawasakiRider4

    Southwest Michigan

  • @wyttale, oh cool kentucky here. we actually shot a fox squirrel yesterday lol. was the first one ive seen in real life. man it was alot bigger than any gray squirrel ive shot.

  • Hell yea man, i shot an 870. too. I LOVE it

  • Good tight shot! 5/5

  • sounds like you need to do some crow hunting with all the crows in the background

  • Nice Video! I sure do miss squirrel hunting. I've been in the Air Force for 14 years now and don't get much of a chance to hunt squirrel. I plan on taking my son squirrel hunting for the first time this winter back in Iowa. If you can could you post more squirrel/rabit hunting videos? Thanks and good luck hunting!

  • Just sub to my channel and when new vids are posted, you'll be notified!!!

    Thanks,

    Terry
