@FrizBeats I would try Balboa pier (A Street). If the slope is too steep you can walk further north until it flattens out a little.

does it matter skimming what sort of sand is on the beach ? I got a primo spot but its pretty gritty sand , not fine sand like most of the skimboarding video's i've seen . Any answers would be great

@ThatOneGuy1027 the boards can be intimidating in price, but really skimming is a pretty cheap activity. a $299 recruit should last you a solid season of skimming at least. Say 150 days of riding on average? Thats less than 2 bucks a day. Compare that with just about any other action sport and its not that bad. Hope you join us. It's a lot of fun!

@SkimmerStyle Foamie is a entry level foam board. You can ride some waves with it for sure but to ride like this you will probably need a high end board.

@skatermcgee900 paint pens usually work great. make sure and sand down the area alittle to prep it and then use non-water based ink pens. Usually just wax over the top works, but clear coat wont hurt.
